Action Roofing does truly excellent work. More than twenty years ago, I hired Action Roofing (Jack Martin - CEO) to reroof my detached garage after getting researching roofers and getting references. That roof is still in excellent shape, and I did not get the highest grade shingles for that job. They did it in a day, and cleaned everything to its original condition. Over the years, I have had Jack's brother, Steve, replace gutters, and I have had other work done by them. I recently found out that the school at which my "better half" teaches, uses Action Roofing to work on its buildings. So, they do large jobs, too. All of my work has been done well, on time, within budget, and with good communication from both the proprietors and their staff. Sharon, their long-time office manager, does excellent work and is easy to talk with. They are honest and straightforward. Jack is just finishing reroofing my entire house. I have had no problems reaching him. He keeps me apprised of the work and its timing, and deals well with issues as they arise. He has an eye for detail; he can see and resolve problems others have not noticed. My home is in better shape than ever because of his careful work. Is Action Roofing the cheapest roofer in town. I doubt it. If you want a Yugo, go for it! But, if you want your work done properly, by an experienced contractor with an eye for details and the ability to resolve problems, go to Jack and Steve. They will not steer you wrong. His workers are nice and polite, too. They clean up after their work every day. That is important to me because we have a dog. Jack does not suggest you spend more than necessary for the work. Originally he suggested good shingles that are not the "best." He told me the "best" is not worth it for my job. I did my research and found out he was correct. Moreover, he told me part of my house did not need reroofing at this time. Jack understands the substantial financial burden such major work creates for many homeowners, and he will not "rip you off." He is fair and decent, and goes the extra mile to do the job correctly. I am not saying you should not get another bid. But, if you get a lower bid, get real references, check their license, bonding, insurance and complaint record. Also, amortize the difference in cost over 30 years. Would you rather save a bit over time, or be sure the job is done correctly. Your home depends on the answer to these issues. I cannot recall the last time I wrote a review on Yelp, but I think Action Roofing deserves this review.

Not that I'm on a 5-Start roll as of late, however I've been hiring quite a few contractors to do some work around my parent's house lately. The good news is that all of my research (online reviews, recommendations and BBB analysis) as really paid-off! Action Roofing did a FANTASTIC job on installing a new roof on my parent's house. What really makes a difference to me is that Action Roofing (Jack [Owner] in particular) took the time to educate me on the different options, assisted in guiding me in selecting options consistent with the nearby look of homes and actually convinced me to go up on the roof (which is no easy task considering I REALLY hate heights) to see for myself termite damage to the pre-existing plywood base. Due to the level of detail of Jack's team during the tear-down process, they found that the vast majority of plywood boards had significant damage and had to be replaced. Not being satisfied with showing me pictures (Jack sent me about 65-pictures total in my roof collection), Jack wanted me to see for myself the extensive damage. He really shows no fear since he proceeded to bounce up and down on the plywood board (again, on the roof) showing the 'give' and that's how you can tell (besides the chunks too) the level of damage. Once everything was replaced (to include several skylights too), it's amazing the how everything looks now! This includes how the Action Roofing team was extremely meticulous in cleaning everything up and you can barely tell anyone was there (outside an amazing looking roof)! I would highly recommend that you put Action Roofing on your list of contractors and compare their quality with their competitors. When you examine all factors, I'm willing to bet you will end up with the same decision I made.

I would recommend Jack and his team to any of my family and friends. 100% on quality of work. 100% on customer service and 100% on overall experience. My job was not easy either. Its a Cape Cod style roof with dozens of angles and elevations. I can see that I'm not the first on here to proclaim that Action Roofing has a quality of work that is unsurpassed. What I found most impressive though were the little things. When I called Jack, a few times he was calling back before I had finished leaving a voicemail. Jack took the time to have a 5-10 minute conversation with my 72 year old mother who was visiting!! He also helped me find a wood worker to fix my deck, even though it was of no benefit to him. He did it just to be nice. It's no surprise that he has a great crew of guys as well. Guadalupe was the team leader for my job and could not have been any nicer. I needed to have the guys take a bunch of breaks cuz my work at home required the noise to stop every now and then... Guadalupe and the guys were very kind every time I made these annoying requests and it all worked out great. Jack and the Action Roofing team do incredibly high quality work, but it was the human factor that moved me to write a review. I don't wrote many reviews, but I wanted other potential customers to read this and know with complete confidence that Action Roofing will do a superior job!!

I had a contractor cause major damage to my roof and interior vaulted ceilings due to a botched solar instillation. Action Roofing did the repairs and they have been the shining light in what has otherwise been a horrific experience. The work they did was EXCEPTIONAL and they're crew and front office personnel have been nothing but kind, understanding and professional and I know for a FACT I have been a very difficult customer to deal with. Due to our previous experience we were highly paranoid and asked for checks and re-checks of every step as well as added a last-minute change to the scope of work. Octavio was always polite and accommodated every one of my annoying requests without complaint. They have also been incredibly understanding during the billing process. They have stayed true to a quote that was over three months old by the time my previous contractor agreed to the repairs of the damage they caused and have remained true to that quote and have been incredibly patient and understanding as that contractor has continued to stall on paying for the damages. Action Roofing is an incredible company and I HIGHLY recommend them and know I will use them for any future roofing needs.

I remodeled a duplex and was all set to list on the MLS when I discovered 122 broken tiles after the property was fumigated. These were up out of sight and were not disclosed to me by the exterminator. I have used Action Roofing over many years for my primary residence as well as the rental duplex. So Action Roofing was the first to call. Jack knew I was 'under the gun' to get the damage assessed and remedied, and he took the time to fit into his busy schedule a roof inspection that Saturday. After finding the roof was in fair to good condition other than the damaged tiles, he put Joey and his crew on it ASAP. Joey contacted me and said "we are finishing up a job hopefully by tomorrow, and if done, I will put 4 or 5 guys on yours, otherwise we are pushed out to August". Long story short, Joey called the next day and said they'd start it the next afternoon. In fact, they got there earlier, powered through the entire day and finished it the next day! This is FIVE STAR service in my book, and I will NEVER hesitate to sing Action Roof's praises to anyone!

Jack and his team are great to work with. Jack is a standup guy and personally came to review the roof and assess our needs. He gave us multiple options for addressing our leak, and was competitive on all the pricing. His team is responsive when you reach out by phone or email, so I always felt like I could get questions answered. One thing that I really appreciate is that Jack will send photos of the project, with status updates, and then the final set when the project is completed, so you can see what is happening without climbing up on the roof itself. I also appreciate that his brother is part of the company, and handles the gutters. We needed to replace the gutters and he was very consultative, even showing us samples of different colors against the house, so we could make an informed choice. I should also mentioned, I had to manage this project remotely from LA, so having the updates and their willingness to send photos and Facetime was really helpful and made me feel like a valued customer. Definitely calling them again to do future projects.

I recommend Action Roofing highly. They replaced my flat roof with pvc, an impressive material they suggested that should last longer than the prior roof I had installed. Needless-to-say, this flat roof has been a headache as long as I have been in the house. The supervisor, Joey, diagnosed the source of the leak and came up with a solution that addressed a fault in the roof design. He was professional friendly, very responsive each time I called him and stayed in touch throughout the job. I always knew what was going on and what was next. His crew also worked well with me and kept the work site clean. The contract was clear and I thought the pricing was reasonable for the job. In my opinion, it was worth it to go with the largest company in Santa Barbara because they have sufficient manpower, resources and good relationships with the building inspectors.

Action Roofing did a great job putting a new roof on my house. Guadalupe's crew was very professional and very hard-working. The workers were always mindful of my property. The site was cleaned up at the end of each day. It was nice not to find nails or pieces of roofing laying around. They also covered my driveway to protect the pavers from work trucks. The old roof was taken off quickly and efficiently and the new roof was put on in just a few days. It helped me a lot that they collaborated with my solar company, who needed to add solar posts after the roof was removed. All new drip trim, vents and flashing were added. They even vacuumed my gutters and cleaned my skylights. My roof looks beautiful! I'm very satisfied with their work and the outcome. I would definitely use them again.

We have used Action Roofing in the Santa Ynez Valley for years. The first time it was to correct another roofer's poor work. Since then we know we can count on them for honest and thorough proposals, and excellent quality of work. Our most recent problem concerned reducing the rain "noise" from a room extension. They said it was a challenge, but they figured out a way to do it, and now I don't shudder every time it rains. They were here when they were supposed to be, stayed in contact with me throughout the project, and left the work area clean. In addition, the work came in several hundred dollars below estimate. I would not think of using any other roofer.

Jack arrived on time for our inspection. We had a couple significant leaks that may have signaled time to replace the entire roof. He helped us decide and we opted for repair over replacement, saving us many thousands of dollars. Action got on the job a week later and finished the next day. Everything super clean and professional. Can't even tell they ever got on the roof. Jack came by during the job to make sure they were fixing the problem - he found the culprits for both leaks, and showed us how they would repair. Action will be first in line for any of our future roofing needs.

I called Action during the busiest time of the decade for roofers - after 5 years of drought and in the midst of a deluge of rain. They answered promptly, provided a fair, professional estimate, did the work exactly as contracted. They installed some new gutters inspected and repaired several gutters, matched paint colors, cleaned up nicely. All in all, excellent quality work, very knowledgeable and courteous staff, responsive to my requests and questions. I'm very impressed with Action and will definitely use them again when needed.

My first contact with Action Roofing was Jorge, Project Manager in the North County area. Jorge was a pleasure to work with. Always arrived when he said he would, explained everything thoroughly in a friendly and professional manner and met with me at the start of every day. The entire crew was wonderful. They worked non-stop in 90 degree heat. As promised, they completely cleaned out all of my gutters even though they had to come back an additional day to get it done. Excellent customer service and satisfaction. Great company!

My house in Santa Barbara needed a new roof, right down to the plywood, and a set of gutters. Action roofing did an excellent job on the whole project. They were courteous, prompt, friendly and very professional. Their work was first-rate, on-time and on-budget. They even pointed out and suggested simple fixes for mistakes made in the framing and venting in the original roof. They also did a great job installing the gutters. Definitely the best roofer in Santa Barbara. We had problems with a roofer that created condensation to occur inside the house. It was like living in a greenhouse! Jack MARTIN came out and removed the roof that was less than a year old and diagnosed the problem immediately. The roof was poorly designed and the workmanship was sub standard. Back in April when we actually had some rain, we noticed a leak in our kitchen ceiling. My husband was familiar with Action Roofing so we contacted them & Jack, the owner, came out to give us an estimate. Jack & his crew are very neat & considerate of the owner's property & plants. They cover things up as needed & clean up after themselves to make sure all pieces of the old roof & materials, including nails, are removed. All in all a very positive experience.

Steve came and gave us a quote on a small gutter problem. He was professional and gave us a reasonable quote. Another recommended company had previously referred us to another contractor who came out and never returned calls for a quote because the job was evidently too small. Action did the work competently and timely. I had been afraid the job was to small for them. Now I will always use them and always recommend them.

We use Action for a number of large commercial properties in town, and are very happy with the service and quality. Sure, they're not the lowest-cost provider, but they're there for us for the little projects (leaks or patches), annual maintenance, and the big projects that (sadly) result from the leaks and the maintenance. They're very responsive to us, and the work is very well done.

Jorge's team at Action Roofing did two jobs for us. The first involved repairing 11 beams with wood rot, and the carpenters did an outstanding job! The second was a repair in multiple locations for our flat roof. Rather than replacing the whole roof, they were able to reinforce many sections that will help the roof to last many more years. They do quality work for a fair price!

Shortly after moving in, we discovered a roof leak from a flashing problem which the prior owner had attempted to fix over the years. Jorge from Action Roofing came out promptly, diagnosed the problem and proposed the correct fix. He worked with his team to get the job done, and we are very happy with the result. The price was reasonable for the amount of work that was required.

Jack and his team at Action Roofing are simply the best in the Santa Barbara area. Not the least expensive, but the end product is well worth the cost. Action Roofing have done entire new roofs and some small repairs for us on various houses over the years. No matter how large or small the job they give the same professional service. I kind of give them 5 stars with a little bit of hesitancy. The roofing job ended up superb. There was a lot to fix and they did a perfect job. But along the way they broke a lamp, a fence, a glass desktop and a window. Sure, they fixed them all. It was a hassle getting all that stuff fixed. In the end it was perfect, but a little traumatic along the way.

We had excellent service from Jack Martin of Action Roofing. We considered his bid fair and his follow through with the work was top notch. We didn't feel like he was trying to "upsell" us on roofing materials and there weren't any hidden charges as we got into the process. Best Roofing company ever! Our re roof was done in a professional manner from start to finish. I could not believe how careful the guys were when Tearing off our old roof tiles. Not a trace of debris! They were so efficient and left no messes ever. The new roof looks fantastic. I highly recommend Action Roofing!
