This is my first-time roof replacement, I learned about Affordable 1 after seeing the impressive work done on my neighbor's roof. We are lucky have Khanh , our excellent project consultant, guided us through the entire process. The journey took approximately six months, primarily due to the insurance section, but thanks to Khanh's patience and detailed explanations, we understood every step. We are so happy with our beautiful new roof. I also want to thank the roofing team for their outstanding work. They were neat, tidy, professional and completed the entire job in just one day. Thank you, Affordable 1, for your professional work. I highly recommend Khanh and your roofing team.
I had an excellent experience working with Khanh on my first roof replacement. From the start, he made the entire process seamless, handling the insurance negotiations and guiding me every step of the way. His expertise and dedication ensured that everything moved forward quickly and efficiently. Now that we’re at the installation phase, he has clearly outlined what to expect, making the process stress-free. I highly recommend this company, and especially Khanh, for anyone needing a professional, knowledgeable, and reliable roofing expert.
Are you looking for a reliable roofing company that will take care of you from A-Z? Look no further than Affordable 1 Home Services! They will contact your insurance company and will handle the rest. You do not have to call your insurance company at all. I am a first time home owner and Mark was very helpful in that he walked me through the whole process! One of the plus is that they pressure wash your driveway as part of the service! I’d totally recommend Affordable 1 Home Services to my family and friends!
I highly recommend Affordable 1 Home Services for roof installation. Khanh D. was very helpful and reliable consultant for our roof replacement project. He thoroughly explained the insurance claim and roof replacement process as well as very flexible with our schedule. Thank you very much Mr. Khanh for such an excellent job on our project, especially when insurance company refused to replace the roof. We are very pleased that we chose you to help us. We highly recommend you to our friends and families.
I used Affordable 1 for my new roof. I am highly satisfied with the job. Khanh is a great guy to deal with and is very proactive. He has great integrity and really cares that his customers are looked after and kept informed. The team work hard to a high quality standard and take great care to tidy up the site after completion. Very highly recommended.
We got a new roof and worked with Khanh at Affordable 1. He walked us thru every step and made sure we always knew what was coming up. It was such a pleasant experience that we will be telling everyone we can to use them as well.
Khanh did an amazing job on my roof, my roof was damaged from the hurricane last year and he has been with me every step of way to make sure the insurance paid for the proper repairs, great guy to deal with
After the storms of hurricane Harvy we suffered bad roof damage from a tornado. Had 1 company never show up to give estimate, 1 guy wanted full payment up front... yay right, to top it off he was driving a ford fiesta so i know hes not serious about doing any work. The third wanted half down, 4K, which I did, and we scheduled for work to begin in 2 to 4 weeks. After one 1 week I found errors in the estimate which i understood, and it was going to cost more which I was fine with, but they instantly wanted another 2k down. I said no way, no more money down, and demanded a refund of my 4k down payment. A customer of mine recommend Brad with affordable 1 and give me hes cell phone. She said he had just stopped by her house to check it for damage as he was in the neighborhood and remembered her house as his customer. I called Brad and 2 hours later he was at my door. I told him my bad experiences with the last 4 roofers and having to fire one of them. Told him want I wanted, what I was willing to pay, and wanting it done asap not weeks from now. He made some phone calls then stuck out his hand. Later that week i had a deliver of plywood and shingles in my drive way, WITH NO MONEY DOWN!! and no crying about needed payment up front. The next day the crew got to work. Brad drove my a couple times a day to make sure all was right. They were done the second day and we are completely happy with the way it turned out! One roofer put his foot through the ceiling and they made sure it was taken care of the next day, and even ceiling is good as new. Thank you afforedable1 ill be recommending you to all my customers.
I cannot speak highly enough of this company. We unfortunately flooded during Harvey and as soon as we got confirmation from our county affordable 1 was there working non-stop to get our house back in order. From the sales lady, to the work crew, to the billing. They walked our over stressed butts through it all and understood how badly we needed to be back in our home yet were wonderfully meticulous about their finished product. Even with our county giving us the run around about when we could start rebuild, we were still the first in my group of friends who had flooded back home. Thank you Affordable 1! We will be return customers and I recommend you to anyone I know who needs any of your services. We are truly in your debt.
As a Realtor I've encountered my fair share of shady contractors so Jonathan was a God send. Affordable 1 is now my go to company when it comes to ensuring my clients have the best service and care around. He has completed countless roofs for me and my clients and his level of service and professionalism NEVER waivers. Some of the reviews on here lack validity and if you're looking for legit reviews check out their google and Facebook page. You'll find countless happy customers!
Gordon came to our home yesterday to find the cause behind a leak we had in our garage ceiling. After inspecting the roof, Gordon identified that is was an issue with the windows above rather than the roof. He gave us great advice on how to mend the issue. He also gave great education on roof care and maintenance as well. He was very kind and assured us to give him a call if we had any other issues. We will definitely use Affordable 1 if we have any issues in the future!
Khanh Doan with Affordable-1 Home Services performed a roof inspection today on a house I am about to purchase. He arrived on time at the house, carried out his inspection in a very professional manner and briefed me on his findings following his inspection. I found Khanh to be very honest and will call upon him again when I have home inspection or home repair requirements.
I have worked with Shawn Shockley and he is attentive and has your best interest in mind when working with you. He is willing to work within your budget and helps makes the best decisions for your home/place of business. He's quick at responding to questions and I would recommend his services. He's top notch when it comes to his customers. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!
My experiences with Mark Gobert have always been that of positivity & encouragement. He's an amazing family man, great provider & awesome to work with. I've had the pleasure of not only sharing the football field with Mark but also experiencing group trainings with him. His reach & impact is immeasurable.
Thanks for the great customer service and free inspection Khanh! He went above and beyond for his company. He took his time thoroughly answering all of my questions and concerns. I now feel more comfortable because I fully understand the process.
They worked with us to get a new roof and it looks great. Nate was the best. The workmanship seems awesome and we just used them to paint the outside of our house. Would recommend these folks highly.
Lando helped us rebuild our fence. They look nice and durable. He's super nice, patient and professional working with us on the type and style of the fence to meet our budget.
So far the consultant showed on time gave estimate and told husband the process with insurance. So now we wait for insurance Will keep you posted

Interesting: I posted this after dealing with the BBB. Which was 2018, somehow it got updated to a month ago 2019? Look at all the reviews, a year ago, and crazy how for these individuals, it’s their first and only review EVER? Oh and I’ve now had 3 leaks, 2 Roof inspections, and discovered that not only did they not install drip edge, they never removed the original Roof Jacks, just shingled over existing. The shingle’s extend way beyond the recommended 3/4” mine are 2”! It keeps getting better and better! After viewing the response from Affordable One’s, it only furthers my mistrust in their integrity. After two visits attempting to add/fix flashing leak around the Master-bedroom Chimney, and communication with Derrick to address the damage to interior from that chimney leak, I was placed in contact Carlos. He came out November 19, 2016. After reviewing the roof above master, he said he’d report to his company, they’d be out after the holidays. His concerns were potential board damage under shingles, inadequate venting, ridge-vent (11 ft over 1,008 sq ft area, covering south end room, separate attic covers 46x15, the fact the vent was cut improperly and full of shingles. As promised they showed up December 2, 2016 fixed flashing for 3rd time, and replaced the ridge vent. They said they’d send out a painting/drywall crew for the interior damage, the painter stopped by, he’s been trying to call, however, they gave him the wrong number. We scheduled the day, and he never showed up, and have not heard from anyone since. What disappoints me even more is the blatant false claim of installing 4 turtle vents. After reading their attempt to appear as if they’ve done all work when requested, my faith in their desire to be honest worried me.. l Findings from inspector: All Nail heads at flashing and anywhere on the roof should be sealed, they are not buried, which will cause water to penetrate the structure. The siding should have been installed 2” above the shingles to prevent wicking moisture into siding. The absence of Drip Edge/ on the gable, west side, is what caused the water leak seen in October. There is inadequate flashing and ridge cap on the Gable. The water from the absence of drip edge and plumb Line at Gable enabled the water to travel thru the brick wall onto the first floor. Additional no Kick out flashing where upper and lower rooflines meet. Valley’s improperly flashed I realize that the crew and their workmanship is to blame, however, my disappointment in Affordable One, knowing the crew had done at best an elementary job, should have done a total inspection of the over 4,000 sq ft roof they installed. This would have prevented farther problems. Knowing that they are dismissing the facts, falsifying work not done, gives me fear in doing the right thing. I entrusted them with a $13,xxx, contract. I shouldn’t have to suffer because of their Employee work ethics. I’m a fair person, I cleaned up my yard for weeks, no yard sweep was done, I cleaned my pool distorted with debris, I informed but didn’t get angry when they stole my satellite dish and took my beer (outside refrigerator, I stocked with water for them. But water is a serious issues, damage to insulation, boards and mold. And as far as the tornado’s touching down, (claimed my neighborhood was hit,) he was referring to Sienna Plantation!) I’m in Sugar Land, (NT)we didn’t have tornadoes, however, we did receive 47.5” of rain. According to the claim from CertainTeed’s website, shingles and ridge-vents, if installed correctly, are Wind Driven Rain Resistant to 110 MPH, as tested in FL, where hurricane’s are normal. The other two ridge vents, a 10’ and 4’ cover 2567 sq feet attic space, the 4’ is the top hip roof which has 8/12 & 10/12 pitch, this increases NFA by 20%, 2,0067 sq ft total. The other 507 sq feet with 10 FT ridge vent has a 10/12 pitch (13X42’) all exit air is weighted to the the SE half of the home. The Certain Teed vent provides 18” NFA area per linear foot, a 4’ vent you loose 6” a side, I need 1,033 sq ft. exhaust per NFA.
DO NOT recommend this company for ANYONE who is looking for a contractor. While the reviews show that this company is VERY good at roof work it falls incredibly short when it comes to home construction. We were the unlucky participants in the Winter storm of 2021, we were the unlucky participants in the Winter storm of 2021, causing 8 pipe bursts, Damaging the kitchen, Master bathroom as well as the garage and the back of our home. We were very understanding when it took a month to get workers in here, but their project managers were way in over their heads from the start. We had multiple construction crews and plumbers working on our project over the past 4 months, and they all seemed to have been told the project was smaller, quicker and simpler than it was, as well as missing items causing them to rush to get ours done, doing a shotty job. This frustrated not just us but also the construction workers themselves and I found it incredibly insulting that the "managers" disrespected their crews so much, wasting their time as well as ours. The construction crews affordable 1 higher are very hard workers (the second one we met...there did great, but there was so much messed up from the first crew) but it’s obvious that they lack the "project managers" construction calls for. The project managers rarely came in to check up on the work being done so things were forgotten or overlooked. There were large amounts of time between the construction’s crews work periods, a normal but they had covered up shotty work such as: old wet insulation not removed from the pipe burst pipes and attic were not insulated, We only discovered this when we cut a hole in the new ceiling to find out why the ac duct was dripping condensation (they accidentally removed the ac duct from the vent blowing air into the uninsulated attic) We had to fight tooth and nail to get things corrected while multiple issues repeatedly and when questioned on it their "project manager" asked "what is really to code. We thought maybe we just had bad luck with our salesman but no we quickly saw the same issues repeated. Both never wrote things down; repair projects were weeks apart and corners were cut due to lack of communication between the project managers and the crew. We started this project in May and have just "Finished' it at the end of august. While our project was a rather large one the workers were only here a total of 22 days in a total of 115 days all the time feeling like we were always a second though because they had their money. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS higher this company to do your construction job. Their so-called managers will avoid calling or texting or emailing as well as make no effort to check up on your project due to them being busy with the next sale. We were constantly made to feel as if we were inconveniencing them and wasting their time. Its ridiculous. The workers as well as the GM who came to help were very nice and knowledgeable, they stood no chance against the damage and turmoil that the "project managers" caused. Do not higher this group to do your home remodel. Some of the things we went through where Corners were cut, old wet insulation left in then drywalled over to cover up, boards on the frame of the house hacked up and left, water under floors, ac door walled shut, broken pipes as well as a new but damaged floor that we now have in our bathroom and bedroom, kinked ac tube going into the house. Even after seeing all the damage we never received an apology. Now we are left with trash we have to slowly throw away by us (HOA has given us 3 notices now), broken shower door and vanity drawers that the construction crew broke as well as a bathtub that is leaking water underneath from a drain they replaced, Trash was left for weeks at a time in our front and back yard and a brand-new floor with gaps in it and cracks. This is a roofing company, and NO ONE should use them for construction. Finally, after months we have decided to just do repairs ourselves and higher someone else to fix the mess they left. Do not go with this company.
I hired Affordable-1 to replace the roof on our new home, largely because Brett Ross, the general manager, was a former neighbor and someone I wanted to support. During the initial inspection, Joe from their team mentioned that the soffits might need replacing if they were damaged. After completing the roof replacement, they claimed the soffits were fine and reinstalled them—but failed to seal the gaps between them or around the edges. I contacted Joe multiple times, but he kept delaying. Eventually, I reached out to Brett, who had Joe return to apply caulking. Unfortunately, the work was extremely poor—so poorly done it looked like a child had done it. I sent photos to Brett and requested a proper fix. Although they came out to inspect the issue several times, no corrective action was taken. As a result, my home has now suffered water damage, and I’m left with no choice but to pursue compensation through legal channels. To make matters worse, even the roofing job itself was subpar and now needs to be redone. I genuinely wanted to support a veteran-owned business and a former neighbor, but this experience has been deeply disappointing. I strongly advise others to avoid doing business with Affordable-1.
Affordable 1 used very low-quality materials and had horrible support when problem arised. For example, they used either PVC or very thin aluminum for flashing and two years later it started deforming. When I called, they did not want to do anything and did not pick up my calls. I finally got a hold of the manager and they came and straightened it. Now, few more years later I have more places like this. Deformed flashing means insects breeding behind it and potential for water leaks. Also, they convinced me to replace roof vents I had on original roof with ridge vent and told me it was much better. In reality, a lot of dust is now accumulated in my attic, either because they did not make that ridge vent correctly or else. Another issue was that the color of the flashing was very light and did not match anything. None of the neighborhood houses had flashing this light. When I called them to paint it in matching color, they just bluntly said NO. They damaged a lot of insulation in the attic apparently because they used too long nails. Photos are coming soon.
Warning* Check with your insurance and make sure they did a windstorm inspection! They skip the inspection required for windstorm insurance while installing my roof. I didn't know until I tried to switch insurance. Anyone who's had a roof installed by these people in the last 7 years or so needs to check with their insurance to make sure their inspection was done. Took me six months and actually having to drive to their location to get the contract and bill of materials from them, so I could pay to get the roof they installed inspected. They ducked me for months, constantly telling me they would dig out my documents and call me back when they found them. Then eventually just stopped answering my call and voicemails all together. They were hoping that I would just go away since the initial install work has a 10 year warranty and it's been 7 years. Just really shady business practices and ethics.
We have been working with them for months, and Derrick has strung us a long and wasted our time. After months of going nowhere, we now have to find a new company and start this process over. We originally asked for a patch to which they recommended us to replace the whole roof and they would assist us with the insurance. October was when this started, and they failed to properly provide whats needed to the insurance. This company was recommended to us, and we are disappointed with their lack of professionalism.
Hired them to fix a roof and they promptly flooded my house. Classy... Edit: I should point out that after the event, I had to hire an outside contractor to fix the leaking pipe out of my own pocket, an additional $700+ expense. Affordable 1 informed me the best they could offer was to repaint the interior, or else we would have to look at legal alternatives (great leverage when you’ve already paid for the roof).
They replaced my roof (never had a leak in the past) and roof leaked. I had told the salesman that one section did not look right. He said he would fix, and that is where it leaked. After 7+ calls and not one returned filed BBB complaint. Nothing. Avoid.

New problem, Roof Vents, jacks, whatever the term, never removed during new roof install, just shingles over. The problems keep mounting. I have a roofer willing to CHALK every issue, Affordable 1 can come dispute any findings, I'll have an inspector here as well. They can either pay for the damages, and new roof, or will be taking to court. I'd hope they'd take my challenge and leave the legal cost out of the mix.
This is a fraudulent company! They have a A+ rating simply because they respond to BBB complaints, but everything they say is a lie. They are based out of state, but have addresses in Rosharon & Richmond, TX. They have fake fax numbers, fake email addresses. They use high pressure sales tactics and talk a lot, BUT THEY NEVER provide customers or potential customers with the documentation requested! THEY WON'T TELL YOU HIW MUCH THEY CHARGE THE INSURANCE COMPANY UP FRONT. A 10k roof will suddenly be described as cheap so they can convince you that 25k or more is reasonable for your insurance company to pay. They will present you with a 1 page contract without discussing or showing you the fine print on the back, which says you have 3 days to back out of the contract, beyond that if you back out before they do work, they want a $950 cancellation fee. So, take their contract home, read the fine print and if you choose to do business with them, make sure they give you a WRITTEN ESTIMATE UP FRONT. I PROMISE YOU THEY WON'T PROVIDE IT! If you need work done and it's an insurance claim, they will want copies of your insurance policy and your approved insurance claim, all so they can gauge the insurance company. PLUS, they will take your deductible, recoverable depreciation and file supplemental claims without your knowledge! They'll even try to get you to sign a form that allows them to talk to your insurance company without you, so they can commit insurance fraud! They try to scare you into thinking that anything that you do is insurance fraud. The salespeople lie, the manager lies and the company owner lies! NOT ONE OF THEM EVER PROVIDED ME WITH REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION, NOT EVEN AFTER I PAID THE CANCELLATION FEE. I'm glad I saw past the BS & picked another company. IF THEY LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, IMAGINE WHAT THEY WILL LIE ABOUT IF YOU LET THEM DO YOUR CONTRACT WORK!!!

They are scam artists. The (young, 26 yrs.) salesman talked a blue streak about what they can do and how much they can get from the insurance company. They destroyed the yard, after stating in the contract that everything would be protected. Little to no clean up. The crew took two hour lunches. They also took hour-long breaks when the salesman was not on site. They left gaps in the roofing which caused leaks. The owner does not return calls and the salesman was abusive when we asked about line items on the contract that did not get done. These guys are the cadillac of roofing ambulance chasers. Fortunately we have a good attorney as well as a local police dept that is familiar with the company and the sales people who cruise the neighborhood so they will be stopped before being allowed to drum up business in the area. Be aware that this company drives through neighborhoods after hail storms, etc. making promises that most companies keep, but not this one. There is not one single aspect of any of these negative reviews that I would disagree with.
We haven't even begun to do business with these people and their salesman was a "no call, no show" even after we confirmed our appointment with him that morning (scheduled for last Saturday 7/23 at 2pm). Not only did we confirm our appointment with him but he also said that both my husband and I had to be present. So, we waited around until 3:30pm and never received a phone call or returned text. We basically burned up our entire Saturday waiting on him and we had other stuff to do. Here it is Monday afternoon and we still haven't heard back from him. SO RUDE! If sales are your bread and butter, why on earth would you not show up to give an estimate? That's very unprofessional and makes the person (friend) that referred you look like a fool. You especially don't turn down referrals and/or repeat clients! It's bad for business and the economy isn't exactly great. Good luck to you!
This company is one of the most Unethical companies we have ever dealt with. Please don't give them any referrals. Brad promised a referral fee of $400 for per house that we referred. We referred 4 different houses that were completed and they only paid us $200. Now Brad is no longer with them and Carrie their New Trainer and manager informed me that the check was mailed 3 weeks ago, which is a Lie!! Carrie now is avoiding my calls and has Gabby the Receptionst to lie as well. Mr. Garcia you have a serious problem with your company and Unethical employees!!
After our initial meeting, I never heard back from them with an estimate as promised. I attempted to re-engage with this company and they apologized for their lack of follow up. They promised to get back to me by the end of the day. However, they failed to return my calls and emails. I find their customer service to be poor and unprofessional. If I encountered this much trouble trying to give them my business, I wonder what it would look during and post job completion. Just makes you stop and think.
Scam artists. They hit everyone up in or neighborhood, convinced us that they could fix everything we needed done in our house within the amount that insurance settled on, and now is trying to take our entire check without doing what they promised. They purposely wrote "fencing in back" and explained that it meant the entire fence, and now are claiming they can only do the very back section, but still wants to take our entire check. Do not hire.
Spoke to Larry and he gave me a quote for part of my roof and scheduled to come the next day between 12-1pm for the shingle work estimate. No call/no show. I called him to see if he was still coming to my property and I left a voicemail. He never called to say anything so I wasted part of my day waiting for someone unreliable. A courtesy call letting me know his intentions. I would not hire a company that can't even provide a complete estimate.
Had them replace my 10 year old roof that had never leaked. I showed the salesman one section that did not look right - and he said he would repair. When it rained - that section leaked. After 7+ calls - none returned - I filed a BBB complaint. Nothing more than a month later. All I wanted them to do was repair the leaking section and fix the minor damage inside - but they would never even take a look at it. AVOID.
I needed a roof replacement on my elderly Mother in Laws home. I called them and spoke with Courtney Drain. He is pushy yet seemed thorough. He quoted me a price at 16,500. I accepted and waited for the paperwork. Yesterday, he contacted me and raised the price to 19,250. This is a 2,750 dollar increase. I do not recommend doing business with this company.
Wouldn't use them my roof is one year old and is leaking can't get anyone to come out to repair leak. The roof warranty is 10 years but useless because customers is non- existant. Find a reputable roofing company these people are not.
They walked off job leaving us with a toilet in our backyard, missing a kitchen cabinet, exterior door without a threshold, and many other poorly completed or incomplete tasks.

We recently had roof damage from a hail storm. We called Affordable 1 Home Services and they sent out Crystal to help. She came and inspected the roof and told me that the roof would need to be replaced due to the damage. I didn’t know where to start, but Crystal literally walked me through the entire process. She even looked over my home insurance policy and explained things and verbiage that I didn’t know. She made me and my wife feel comfortable through this whole process. I’m really one of those people that has to have everything explained to me 2-3 times and she obliged every time. She would text me the messages to send to the insurance company and kept me on top of the process. Crystal took the time to walk us through the HOA paperwork to get the approval on our roof color. Once we were approved and ready to go, her team took literally one day to do an awesome job. She took some awesome pics with her drone and sent them to the insurance company to keep them updated. We honestly couldn’t have done it without her. She even baked us some of the best homemade cookies I’ve tasted!!! I would definitely recommend this company and ask for Crystal Idika
