I have had many experiences with the Comfort Authority and some of them have been very frustrating. However, unlike many other companies, The Comfort Authority has strives to make up for those particular experiences to make them better. Ultimately they want each and every customer to have a 5 star experience. Whether or not that is actually possible, I can't say for sure. I can speak on my own behalf and say that this has been the case for me. I've only had positive experiences on the phone with them - Whether that be with a representative or with the son or wife of the owner. My experiences with the technicians who have come to my home have all been positive. The main technician, Peter, is an honest person that wants the customer (me) to be happy with the product and services and also wants to make sure that all the details are clarified so that there is no confusion. My unit that was installed by them is and has been running as it should be. Moving forward I feel confident that I can rely on them to properly diagnose and correct any issues I may have. Overall, I feel that with the honesty, integrity, and willingness to right any wrongs - I feel they deserve 5 stars.

08/20/2025 Adding New Review to Previous Review Below Today we had our annual maintenance and today's technician was Luis. Great guy and very professional and knowledgable! After he preformed his service, he clearly explained what was done and things he saw that might need to be addressed in the future. He made sure we understood everything he explained so we had no questions before he left. He also made sure there was no mess left behind and everything looked like it did before his arrival. We have been with The Comfort Authority for 9 years now and can not say enough good things about them. Owning a home you meet many home service companies and many disappoint. The Comfort Authority is not one of those. This company is a keeper! They are very honest and provide great service! They also stand behind their work. Sept. 2024 Previous Review I think we have been with The Comfort Authority for 8 years. They are a top notch company. Michael Kennedy, our last technician, was great. All the technicians have been great. We have been been very happy with The Comfort Authority.

This review is for Rick and his work on our HVAC system, repair, servicing, and air purifiers. Exceptional Service, Honesty, and Attention to Detail! I had a fantastic experience with The Comfort Authority, and specifically with our technician, Rick. He was incredibly professional and took the time to address all our concerns about our HVAC unit, thoroughly explaining how to make it run more efficiently. What impressed me most was the transparency and focus on our needs. Rick provided four different estimates and even created a custom quote so we got exactly the work we wanted without any pressure. He sent detailed before-and-after pictures, followed up after the service, and demonstrated true integrity by reaching out to his superior to get the correct answer to a tough question I had. Throughout the entire process, Rick was patient and his attention to detail was second to none. If you are looking for an HVAC company you can trust for servicing, repairs, or air purifiers, I cannot recommend Rick and The Comfort Authority enough.

8/23/25: Rick promptly came out and determined the issue and was professional. He explained the plan of action and was considerate. After months of dealing with another AC company that was problematic and unable to correctly identify issues before they became issues, we chose to call The Comfort Authority. Glenn was able to resolve the issue that had taken the other technician 5 hours to try to figure out with no avail, and whom had subsequently, caused a transformer to blew do to improper wiring, which was extremely dangerous and unsafe for our family and home. Glenn was very professional, knowledgeable, and had a great attitude. Again, none of which was experienced with the previous company. He educated us and remained onsite to ensure the issue was fully resolved. As should be expected when working with a business, we were provided with expectations from start to finish, so that nothing would come as a surprise or be executed without our consent. Hopefully, we won’t need to seek out HVAC services anytime soon.

After calling a few local plumbers, nobody had availability today. I called The Comfort Authority - Plumbing at 8:00 and they had someone here within an hour of our first call. First impression matters and the dispatch team nailed it. They were very communicative and timely with calls and responses. They even send a little introduction to the technician they are sending which is nice personal touch. Eric arrived and asked about the problem (clogged bathtub drain), assessed the situation, and immediately acted on the issue after my approval of rates. He was fast, efficient, and precise. Prior to leaving, he showed me the problem was fixed and also cleaned the area. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a plumbing solution. He also went above and beyond and helped us get the old, stubborn, drain cap undone so we could install a new one. Thank you Eric, keep up the great work! It was a pleasure working with The Comfort Authority for my plumbing issues and I will be using them again if needed.

Wonderful experience from begining to end. Received a quote yesterday and was scheduled for installation today. Every person I have been in contact with has been awesome. Derek who came out first ensured I could understand what was going on and what would happen next. He was also gracious enough to speak to my dad as he had a lot more questions. I never felt pressured and felt like they gave it to me straight and put more thought into what I needed versus trying to upsell me and I always appreciate that. Then Gary and Robert came out for the installation and made the process even better. They were awesome! Came in nice and early and were here a better part of 8 hrs. They were well spoken, super friendly and took me on a tour of my new system before they left. I was honestly dreading having to do this whole process, but everyone involved made it a whole lot easier. Will definitely put in a good word if ever asked in the future. Thank you!

We've used Comfort Authority for several years now, and they continue to be the only AC/Plumbing company our family trusts. From start to finish, their service is always top-notch. Most recently, we had the pleasure of working with Rick, and he was absolutely fantastic—friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure the job was done right the first time. Comfort Authority truly stands by their work and they care about long-term quality/customer satisfaction. Multiple family members have used them as well and we've all had the same great experience. Top notch service! If HVAC companies were on a dating app, I would swipe right. Professional, timely, respectful of your house, good communication with texts and phone calls. I knew I was going to need to replace my AC after buying my townhome 3 years ago. I initially went with a system check up because it wasn’t running like the beast it used to be (est 2007). Glenn the technician came out and said she needed some work. He kept it real and then I decided to divorce my old one and upgrade to a new younger, prettier, more efficient one. Gary and Uzi came by the next day and swapped the old ex out and now Im living in some vacation temperatures. Also Derek was great and made the whole paperwork process a breeze. I definitely could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else, but so far the quality has been 💯. I’ll add any additional reviews as we live together for the next year.

Today, Glenn from The Comfort Authority came to my home to check an issue I was having with my AC unit, which was installed in August last year. He diagnosed the issue quickly, determinining it was a electronic circuit board issue in the guts of the air handler. New board ordered. As has been my experience with The Comfort Authority from the 'get go,' from sales, to install and follow-up service, it has been excellent. Glenn was professional, knowledgeable, and engaging, explaining what was going on. AC still working, cooling...getting the new board will make it more efficient. Thanks Glenn, and Comfort Authority. Glenn also came a few days later, on June 13th with new relay which fixed everything. AC working great! Again, 5 stars for Glenn, because he is a 5 star kind of guy....professional, polite, engaging! Knows his stuff! Again..thanks Glenn and Comfort Authority!

I called Comfort Authority after noticing my AC wasn’t cooling as it should and hearing an unusual noise from the inside unit I’m so glad I did! Rick, my technician who came out was absolutely outstanding — knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly patient. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood what steps needed to be done to correct the serious issue I was dealing with! Rick didn’t just fix the issue; he checked everything thoroughly and made sure the job was truly done right before leaving. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill, professionalism, and genuine care for the customer experience this well. Highly recommended! Even though we could not afford the requested service, Peyton and Comfort Authority deserve a good rating for providing a positive experience. Kayla, with customer service, reached out immediately to schedule an appointment. She followed up with texts. Peyton, the technician, arrived on time and was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. We requested a new spigot for the backyard, as well as replacements for old ones. He did a careful assessment of our plumbing and property. He explained the work details and gave us an estimate. The cost exceeded our budget, so he offered alternative options, which we also had to decline. Even so, we felt he was honest. We also appreciated that he respected our situation and did not pressure us. Thank you, Peyton and Comfort Authority.

Raymond was absolutely amazing! He arrived promptly for regular inspection of my aging AC. He was very personable and professional as he thoroughly explained the maintenance checklist he would perform. He took his time to answer all my questions and gave me lots of insight and options on how to extend the life of my system. Raymond’s honesty and expertise made me feel very comfortable in making some budgetary decisions to keep my unit running smoothly. We had comfort authority install a new system in Oct 2024 within days after the hurricanes fried our old unit. Other companies said their lead time was weeks, if not a month or more, but comfort authority got is set with a new unit in 3 days. Recently had an issue with the relay and Glenn was our tech that diagnosed and replaced the relay. He was professional and courteous (as all of the techs are! As well as their dispatch and Maverick who answers the phone). He explained the issue using normal words and didn't try to film flam me with Industry terms and phrases. While waiting on the part he was able to do a bypass to ensure we got cold air, and installed the part promptly. Thank you, comfort authority!!

We had a ceiling leak and are so thankful we stumbled upon this company! This was the second company we called for an estimate on replacing our duct system. The first quote gave us serious sticker shock. Derrick came out, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. The price was very reasonable, and you could clearly tell the company cares about its customers more than just maximizing profit. The entire team worked professionally in some really tight spaces, yet they were friendly and obviously enjoyed what they do. Thank you for the amazing work—our A/C is now better than ever! Mr. Glenn Sanchez Betancourt was our technician today for an emergency service call on our air conditioner. He was extremely responsive, answering the call after work hours. His professionalism and expertise were exemplary in every aspect. He was thorough in his assessment, staying focused on the needed repairs and avoiding the sales pitch that everyone typically gets from an emergency AC repair call. I used Google to check the pricing of his repairs and he was on par especially given the responsiveness and his efforts to keep us apprised of the specifics of the repair. Being a retired, single woman, it can be difficult to trust companies these days, so I rely heavily on reviews. The Comfort Authority did not let me down. From the moment I reached out, the communication was outstanding, from scheduling my appointment to receiving text updates about the technician’s arrival. Although, my issue wasn’t fully resolved, the team was extremely helpful. Everyone I interacted with including Ethan, the manager, the technicians, and even the answering service was pleasant, professional, and provided great customer service. Very Happy New Customer. **Be Alert when choosing A/C Install Company. Comfort Authority has 10 yr Labor + Parts Warranty available, most everyone else only 1 yr Labor Warranty. Derek did great job on front end helping me select best model to save me money on install and having lower bills going forward. Seth and his install partner did great job. Very polite and professional. Explained everything and answered all my questions. * Update. 11/23/24. Had an issue when ran heat for first time. Called them 9AM Saturday morning and they had someone out within an hour to get it fixed. Excellent service by Luis.

Today was my first experience with The Comfort Authority. There was no emergency, just a routine maintenance service check. Great communication from the HQ on appt scheduling, Great professional service by the technician (Austin). He found and removed a big wasp nest that had been built inside the compressor housing near the electronics. My unit is 8yrs old but operating excellent and he didn't try to scare me into buying a new system. He did however provide some good options to consider should something go bad, but otherwise I may have 2-10 more good years with this unit. I will use them again.

My Husband and I just recently had Maintenance service for our HVAC and Plumbing systems through Comfort Authority and the two gentlemen that came out were awesome. Dalton was very professional and friendly and helped us out with a last minute issue with our shutoff valve that was seized up. Later in the same day Glenn came out and serviced our HVAC and he was also great. He was very knowledgeable and gave us some good tips for maintenance going forward. They both gave us quotes on future items to fix or improve issues we are having.

After horror experiences with other companies, we’ve been using The Comfort Authority for the last few years and they’ve been exceptional. Always timely, transparent and great customer service. Great perks as being part of their Comfort Plan as well. Luis Menendez recently installed an outdoor unit surge protection and UV light after completing an annual inspection. He was thorough, friendly and very professional. This company makes the prospect of a/c and plumbing repairs or maintenance less daunting. Highly recommend!

Technician was prompt and knowledgeable and friendly. He did scratch a closet door when taking our new coil to the attic, but to his credit he proactively pointed it out to me, and they have offered to come and fix it. I’ll update the review if that doesn’t get done in a timely manner. Update: They called within 24 hours to schedule a fix, and they offered times within the next 2-3 business days. They sent out a field manager who fixed the scratch and it looks good. More importantly, our HVAC is working well!

My AC stopped working last Friday night and I called right before 5 p.m. I had a call back early the next morning and they were there a couple hours later. Rick H. was very helpful and told me exactly what my options were and what was necessary and what could be done in addition to help prevent further issues. He helped find ways to get me the best deal and showed me what the most reasonable options were to fix the current issues. Overall, excellent experience and will be using them again in the future!

Luis took great care of us. He is a very nice, polite young man. He explained everything he was doing while he was doing it. He showed me the leak detector which was unfortunately beeping when placed next to both our units. He worked with me to get me the best price on our repair. We are happy to know he will be coming back when he gets the part to install it. I bought a service plan because I trust this company and will be using them again (when I have to). I definitely recommend them.

Rick Haven an amazing tech. He came to repair one of the AC units. The service was not able to be completed due to parts that need to be ordered. He explained all steps of the issue. He also explained why I should have a monthly service plan. I enrolled. It was a no brainer. He stated that Tuesday Morning or evening the problem will be solved if all go well. I will follow up this review after the issue has been resolved. So far Rick is an A+. Like the other Techs from this company.

Rick was super nice and very professional. He arrived right on time and explained what needed to be replaced and what those parts did in the operation of the AC unit. He showed me pictures which really helped me to understand the concerns. Rick provided several options as to how to remedy the situation, but most importantly, he made the repairs efficiently and I now have cold air back on! He put everything back and left me no mess. He knows where everything is and he is very knowledgeable about air conditioning systems. Dalton the plumber is great! He quickly identified a concern with my toilet. I cannot, in good conscience continue to work with this company. Having been a customer since 2016 (with two installations of units with them), I will be trying a different company in the future. Why? 1. During a regular maintenance, I was told that my capacitor was going bad. The story I heard was that it was still within factory ranges but it will go bad soon. I held off on maintenance, at the time of the visit. 2. Approximately 1 year later, my blower motor failed in my unit. Having to get that serviced, I said to go ahead and change the capacitor. I was then told by the technician, "sir, I dont want to take your money for something you dont need." What!? I was super grateful at the technicians honesty but this was my first red flag. 3. My elderly parent, who used Comfort Authority based on my previously positive referral had a routine maintenance. Wouldnt you know that they too needed a capacitor. Learning from my experience, I reviewed the images of the maintenance and the capacitor was still within operational ranges. This cost my parent $500 for the replacement. So, if you use this company you really need to ask questions and scrutinize the images you are shown. 4. I then expressed concern for #3 on the surveys they send out to customers after work is done. I shared my concern and was promptly contacted by someone in their customer service department. I was impressed that they cared and shared my concerns, specifically that I think they try and sell/charge for capacitors when they are not needed. That said, I am not an HVAC technician and said that if someone could provide a technical explanation for why they made a recommendation for a new capacitor...I would listen and appreciate the explanation. I was told that I would receive a call back. That call back never happened. Red flag #2. 5. Despite my experience thusfar, I continued to use them for service. Having my system checked, now four years after the initial capacitor recommendation for my system, I explicitly asked about the health status of that module. This time, I received feedback that it is still within operational range but on the low end...that it would be fine for now. Thank you, I appreciate honesty. Maybe I just had one bad experience. 6. My last straw was when my elderly parent then had a major system failure. The diagnostic technician (same one that visited and sold the capacitor), stated that it was a compressor failure and it would be a $3000 repair (for a small townhome). My part was under warranty but apparently was not registered; citing that if they installed it, they would have done that. This attempt to deflect responsibility was my third red flag, as the Comfort Authority installed the system. I can tolerate mistakes and things happen in life. I do not have tolerance for dishonesty and deflection. 7. For that high price, how much for a new system? The initial quote was for approximately $9500. Speaking with our neighbors, we received a referral for a different company that installed a system for almost half that cost. It is sad to lose a customer for life and I feel bad about writing this. They have some good people that work for them but I cant take the risk of getting one of their bad people. I do not want Glenn Betancourt in my home or working on any system that I own.

Not sure about the legitimately of some of these reviews but mine is real and accurate. I called The Comfort Authority on Sunday and the lady on the phone said they can come out on Monday. I said fine is there any charge. She said not unless you don't get the repair. A man named Chase came out and said it's a $159.00 fee . I agreed because I had no air. He started diagnosing why the AC is not coming on. He said he thinks it's the thermostat although that was only 1 yr old. After further looking into it I asked him again and he said it's not the thermostat ; he had a wire disconnect. He said it was the blower motor and board. I said it's only 3.5 yrs old so he looked into it and said he can get the parts at warranty but I need to pay for the labor. I asked him how much would the labor be so he showed me something that said $400.00 but he can't get the parts until the following day. I said fine do it. He called me in the morning and gave me a much higher price to replace the blower motor and board. I said it's not what you said so cancel it. I called a place called Cornerstone Pros which I should of called 1st. They had a diagnostic/ house fee of $69.00 compared to $159.00 The technician said it only needs the board the blower motor is fine. He jumped it to show me it worked. He got the board under warranty and put it in. Everything is back to normal. I am disappointed on the misdiagnosed or trying to scam me by Chase. I will see my recourse on the $159.00 I paid. I'm glad I went with my gut to get another opinion. Albert, R

I had used this company previously for AC repair and it went well However recently last 6 months this company has literally told me that they do not have enough workers to provide adequate service for their customers. I was told that the employees of this co are coming out of the Orlando office and they could not provide Saturday services at that time . I just called 7/23 or 24 /25 and made an appt for 7/25 AM I received text message from confirming this appt and at 735 am this morning to inform me that they could not fulfill this appt as they had had " a lot of emergencies overnight from people who do not have AC. My appt was for service - I awoke at 530 am without AC today. I called this Company to inform them of this issue and was immediately offered an appt time way outside of the original appt provided. This again is something I exp with this company during my previous exp. I have received several calls from this co this am ONLY after informing that they I will be contacting the BB and filing a complaint what is what I have just completed. Oh and yes they offered a whopping $25 "credit" on the services call. Shy away from this company as they obviously do not have the appropriate employees to handle the service they are so " highly" praised about.I most assuredly will not be recommending this company for AC nor Plumbing although I would suspect they offer the same shoddy experience in that area as well.

We had CA install our AC a few years ago, and before installation of course they were all attentive, nice, on time with everything. Fast forward to us paying for installation and not even before they finish installing the problems start. We kept giving them chance after chance and they've continuously proven to us we should have looked elsewhere for AC services. We even recently signed up for their "Premium Plan" because we have a baby, only for our AC to stop working on Saturday and them calling us Sunday to say "it wasn't worth it for us to send techs on Sundays so it's just Saturdays now, you'll have to wait." What the hell! So it's not "weekend servicing" anymore, what am I paying for? Nothing but a scam. The tech on the phone said "we sent out letters," they knew what they were doing, with such a drastic update, why would you not call or email??? We never got a letter! Such BS. They knew people would cancel their little plan left and right, which of course we did. Absolutely sick of this company and one issue after another. If you know how to fix your own unit and have the time to do so constantly, then Comfort Authority might be worth it for you.

I cannot recommend this company. We used them for both of our AC installations. We were dissatisfied with some aspects of how things went after the first installation, but we gave them another chance. Shame on me I guess. Water came through the ceiling during the second installation. They refused to admit fault, but agreed to “fix” the damage. After I had to follow up with them to remind them of that, they sent out a person who put a primer coat on the ceiling and said he’d come back. He still hasn’t. During the post installation inspection, I learned that a permit still remained open from the prior installation. I alerted them and have received no follow up. Now, three weeks after installation, the brand new AC is blowing only hot air, but the company doesn’t have “emergency service.” So, now my family is just baking in this heat. They may have the best prices, but their complete lack of professionalism or even basic competence is not worth that price. I will never do business with them again. I recommend that you don’t either.

We had this company come out and service our AC system. I chose them because of all the great reviews that they received. We’ll beware. The technician Mike came out and told my husband that we had a leak in the coils and that it would be cheaper to have a whole new system put in. My husband didn’t have a good feeling and asked me to have someone else come out and service the unit. The other company not only said that we didn’t have a leak he showed me our system was running as it should. I don’t know if it was just this technician. We have spoke with you and relayed to you what your technician told my husband. I know that you asked us to let you have a supervisor come out but we find it difficult to trust someone from the same company, I know that you would love to have a 5 star review however we are not able to give you one.

The company advertises 24/7 emergency service but that is not the case. I came home after work at 5pm Friday night to find my system not working. I immediately called and left a message through their automated system. I called a second time about an hour later, left another message. Following that, I tried the texting system on their website. Zero response from anyone outside of the automated systems. Then, at 10am Saturday, 17 hours later, I get a call from someone in India saying they understand I want to schedule a maintenance visit. Obviously disappointed because I’m not a random customer - the company installed my HVAC system last year, did maintenance on it this spring, and I’ve also used them for plumbing service. Their work is fine but don’t count on them to help in a pinch.

Be careful on the unit you buy, they were selling me diaken unit and first contact they make you sign does not specify av brand. By law you have 3 business days to return it. After they install it and send you an invoice, it was Goodman. I hope the 10 year parts and labor is not a scam

I must voice my experience on this company (The Comfort Authority). On Sunday I reached out to this company because my AC stopped working. I would have to question the legitimatesy on some of these reviews but mine is real and accurate. The lady on the phone ( most likely an answering service ) said they don't work on Sunday but can come out on Monday. I asked her is there a fee and she replied no ; not unless you use their service. So the next day I get a call in the morning and service tech. Chase P came out. He told me there would be a diagnostic fee/service call of $159.00 I was stuck with no air so I agreed to pay. My AC stopped working. He started his diagnosis and said he THINKS it's the thermostat. After 10 minutes later I asked him again if he still thinks it's the thermostat which I installed last year. He replied no ; he had a wire disconnected. He than said I needed a blower motor and a board. I told him it's only 3.5 yrs old can you get the parts under warranty. He checked into it and said yes but I need to pay for labor. I said how much is labor ? He pulled something up and showed me $400.00 labor but he can't get the parts until the following day. I said fine. The next morning he called me and said he could get the parts and the labor cost is going to be alot higher. I said WHAT. You gave me a price yesterday. He said do you want it or not. I said NO. I than called another company for a second opinion. I called Cornerstone Pros. There fee was only $69.00 They came out and said nothing is wrong with the blower motor. He bypassed it to turn it on and show me. He ordered the board under warranty and installed it in a short time. All working normal again. I glad I went with my gut. I am disappointed and mad that Chase misdiagnosed the problem or trying to scam me. Either way he was wrong. $69.00 fee was much better than $159.00 in which I will fight to get back. Albert, R

My mother and I both have Comfort Authority as our air condition servicing company. We both pay $20 a month just to have them come out quicker. Part of the deal is changing the uv light bulb. In 2020, we did not have the tech come inside to to covid so we did not get new uv lights (per our contract). In 2021, I asked that both bulbs be replaced for each unit. They only brought one bulb for each. They promised to follow up but did not. In July 2022, my mom's air condition went out & Chase Prather came on July7th & repaired the outside unit. It went out again on July 20th & July 21st, Rick Haven II came out. Rick has serviced our air conditioners before and he has pushed for new systems at my house as well as my mother's house. Surprise, surprise...it would be better to get a new system than trying to repair the current system. My mom is sitting in a 90 degree house and Comfort Authority offers a new system for $11, 000... so kind. I told my mother that we would shop around and she told them this. The tech offered to bring coolers in to help when the contract was pending but they became unavailable when the 88 year old woman didn't sign. Not once has Comfort Authority called since July 21st to find out how she is doing. I have yet to have my air condition (across the street) serviced since I don't trust Comfort Authority. When I first signed up with them they were great but I think they are more interest in money and taking advantage of an elderly lady. Had I not talked to her she would have signed and she lives on Social Security each month so there would have been financial problems. I had to buy 2 mobile air condition machines from Lowes to help my mother stay cool.

Buyer beware. Based on all the glowing reviews I called this company because after running my AC there was a fishy odor. The reps were prompt and courteous. There is some slight discoloration on a section of my coils, and they said it was mold. I live in a high-rise condo, and they said my unit was probably infected from another unit in the stack. I asked about cleaning, and they said it wouldn't help. They recommended several options, including a start assist...why would I invest several hundred dollars in an add-on for a unit over 8 years old? They gave me several options to get rid of the smell costing between $2393 and $3258 of a duct air purification unit and UVC sterilization. I declined and called another company for a second opinion. Two hours later the other company said it was probably dust on the coils and the only way to know if it is actually mold is to have it tested. This rep didn't think the UV lights were worth the price. He recommended I start with cleaning the coils with a spray on for about $7 from Home Depot and get a new filter. I bought a new filter and ran the unit for over an hour. That was 2 months ago and there has been NO trace of a smell. The Comfort Authority reps weren't too concerned about the source of the smell, adamantly stated it was mold/bacteria and discounted any type of cleaning. They like to state they are not salespeople, but their only recommendations were for "investing" several hundred or thousands of dollars. It pays to get a second opinion.

If I could give zero stars, I would. BUYER BEWARE!!! I paid $9k for Comfort Authority to install a brand-new air conditioner on June 16th, 2023. BARELY a year later, the unit they installed froze inside and outside. The company sold me on a 10/10, which is a ten-year warranty on parts and a ten-year warranty on labor. Shame on me for not shopping this out and allowing myself to get pressured into buying from them. The sales rep said I cannot honor this price if you don't sign today. I, being naive, thought I was getting a bargain! Guess what? Their tech, Glen Betancourt, came to the property at 830 in the morning and turned off the unit to "diagnose" it. When I asked Glen what caused a brand-new unit to freeze, he said airflow and a possible leak. The air filter was just replaced on 6/23/24. He said there could have been damage to the coils upon installation and provided some examples that referred back to installation defaults. Glen returned at 430pm, turned the a/c back on, and did a few more "tests" only to conclude the air conditioner was "working fine." I was furious with his conclusion, and he said that's what "they" are telling me I need to say because right now, it is working. However, it is still 86 degrees in the house. So here we are, not even at the peak of summer, with a brand new $9k 2-ton unit that will have to be thawed out for hours at a time once it freezes again yet.. that's acceptable to the Comfort Authority. Completely unacceptable.

I had this company come out to service our AC because of the great reviews on Yelp! We'll beware of all good and no bad. The service technician that came out told us that we had a leak in our system and we would need a whole new replacement. My husband was not convinced so he had me have someone else come out. Imagine my surprise when the second company that came out not only told and showed me that we didn't have a leak and the system was functioning properly, we indeed didn't need a new system. I'm not sure if it was just that technician, but beware! We have spoke with you and explained that your technician told my husband that we did have a leak. He explained that we had a previous company come in 3 years ago and started the same thing. The company that came in after you stated and showed that there was no leak. That the AC was running fine and we just needed to move the thermostat to make the system run properly. I also told you that I don't know if having another employee from your company come out would make our trust in your company any different. I know that you would love a 5 star review however we are not able to give you one at this time.

My AC compressor (the unit outside) stopped working, it wouldn't turn on so I called this company and they sent someone over to diagnose the problem. I paid them 80$ and all they told me was that it's broken (duh) and I should change it which would cost me 3000$ or change my whole system and that would cost 7000$ and the technician was very insistent that I decide right there. They told me they would email me the diagnosis report, but when they did it was one line, "Going to wait r22 unit compressor and defrost board needs to be replace, recommended new unit Goodman." A day later I called an actual AC repair man who told me that the conductor was faulty and changed it right there (it took 5 minutes) and it started working again. He charged my 170$ (I think if I haggeled I probably could have got it down to 120 or 150$ but I didn't). I don't know why people rate this company as 5 star but they aren't, and people should be careful with their reviews (I called this company because they had 5 star review). I recommend finding an actual AC repair man.

Charges $120 to come out for an estimate. NO THANKS! If I could charge $120 to just come out and give estimates I'd be rich. Stay away folks, 99% of the other companies will come out and give you a free bid on your job! 11/29/2019Hi Alan, thanks for the feedback. I am not paying $120 for you to submit your bid for a duct cleaning, that shouldn't cost much more than that anyways. Thanks but no thanks.

Unfortunately, these guys keep calling - but don't listen to anything you say. I asked them to message me through Yelp. The first time they called, I told them to please send me info and I'd get back to them. Then 16 hours and a few minutes later they called to tell me exactly how many minutes it had been that they had not heard back. I explained I was working on a project up on a ladder and each time they called, I'd have to climb down - and to please coordinate via text or email ONLY and a few minutes later... he called a third time. They're off my list of companies to bid the job because if they do not listen to a simply request, how will they follow instructions on a more complex job?

Beware, Didn't put freon caps back on, or let freon out when checking my system. Said nothing was wrong with my system, so then wasn't fixed. I was told I had a leak earlier, and did had replaced 3 1/2 lbs of freon. So hired them to do a leak check. Caused damage to ceiling because the system froze up again due to not enough freon from a leak! Had them come back out. They walked away, and wouldn't fix things causing further damage to my system and home. The cost to check the system was more than other places too. They are deleting bad reviews on Google and Facebook. I know because they deleted mine.

Completely unhelpful in getting ballpark estimates over the phone. They required a service tech to come out and make a site visit instead of helping me understand expected total costs, so I can compare with other companies. Most others I spoke to for a whole system replacement gladly gave phone quotes.

Needed a quote for duct cleaning. Was told it would cost me $160 just to get the quote. My system has no other issues beyond the debris coming out of the vents, but they would not provide a quote without the fee. Not cool...

Response to your comments: Thank you for the feedback. However, I still have a photocopy of your estimate. Your company doesnt use various brands of HVAC, depending on the customers request or preference? Because, I swear the selling point was that a name-brand HVAC doesnt matter...and, that you put your own name on the unit because you stand by it. The salesman finally told me the brand, and I looked it up (because I never heard of it). You even called me (the owner) to discuss. I have the number saved on my phone. And, YES...I tried to have you guys come down to $13000, and the man literally said "We are already losing $500 on this job." But, then...when I found a WAY better deal, with better equipment...now, you were going to come down $2000? I was only asking for $350 decrease from $13,350. I wasn't super impressed with their quote. They talk about "getting in the attic" and doing a "comprehensive air conditioning check, that includes air flow, etc." In reality, it's more about coming into your home...and quoting you their "best price" which apparently is "losing my boss $500 on this job." After realizing they use a generic, terrible system that is made in Korea and they simply add their name to it...I changed my mind. I cancelled the appointment, and somehow...after "my boss losing $500 on this job" they were going to come down another $2000? Honestly, do your research. A big smile and good reviews is ok. I welcome that. But, hassling you on the price and using terrible equipment (there is a reason their warranty is for so long) isn't what I'm looking for in a system that I want to last 20 years. Use Costco. You'll get top of the line equipment and a non-negotiable price. A dual-stage A/C unit, 16 seer (not 14 and single stage) for less money is that I ended up going with.

Unfortunately, extremely disappointed. We moved into a home with an original AC, 17-18years old. After a few years in the home & with a baby on the way we tried to do the right thing & be proactive. Decided to go ahead & replace it before it actually went out & was an emergency. Also hoping to have better air quality in the home. Saw a lot of good reviews & felt comfortable hiring this company; so honestly surprised in how disappointed we are. Spent a lot of money (obviously) and have now had the company out 5-6 times in a year, more than we ever did with the old AC over 2-3 years. Now there appears to be mold; so about to have to spend ~$500 for an assessment on that. Basically we just have to deal with that now & spend even more on a basically brand new unit that did not have mold issues before. AC unit completely shut off back in March/April, had it fixed & a few hours later it was out again. This time, asked specifically for someone in a manager/supervisor role to come out this time (4th time needing "service" in 4-5months). They did not send someone in a supervisor role in the company.

I thought I was having a good experience with The Comfort Authority. The service call went okay. But they never could generate an accurate invoice. I kept asking and asking, and eventually they just dropped it, because apparently they couldn't do it. They didn't contact me to tell me they couldn't. They just never sent it. When the back-office functions don't work, it always makes me wonder: If they can't manage the business competently, should I be trusting the work? I don't like that feeling; it doesn't inspire me. I'm not an HVAC expert, so I have to rely on all available information to assess a company. I will NOT be using Comfort Authority again.

The receptionist sounds super nice, but it's Wednesday morning and the soonest they can come to even look at my A/C that isn't working is Friday (even though I have pets in the home). So, the positive reviews are great, but it looks like those reviews have made this one too busy to help me. I'll keep looking through Yelp for someone else today....
