I really enjoyed my experience with Century Roof and Solar. Their team was professional, prompt and knowledgeable. The workmanship was outstanding. Tony came out to do the initial site visit and go over all the options. He explained things enough for me to make an informed decision. He didn’t hard sell any upgrades that didn’t make sense. After his visit I received a proposal with all the different options, and costs for each, clearly outlined. This saved some confusion when the office staffed noticed an omission a few days after we agreed on a scope of work and a price. Because their proposal outlined all the options I could clearly see the clerical error that resulted in the mistake. We adjusted the proposal and moved forward. They were clear about their schedule and let me know when they would be available to start. They were very accommodating when I needed to change the schedule to due to a conflict with another project. When the start date finally arrived the crew showed up ready to work. They were very considerate of our extensive garden and I’m really glad they had all those young backs to haul all the debris up the three flights of stairs and the new material down those same stairs. I hopped up on the roof myself once or twice a day. Both to check on workmanship and to discuss issues that Pedro, the foreman, discovered. Dry rot, missing trim, and missing sheathing. All additional work was clearly explained, fairly priced, and nicely executed. The end result is a roof I feel very confident will last another 30-40 years. As a construction contractor myself I really appreciate the whole experience dealing with the Century Roof team. I would definitely feel comfortable bringing them on to another project.
We had our fair share of not so great experiences with contractors since buying our house and our project with Century was a rather large financial commitment (roof and solar and batteries), so we were nervous... really nervous. Tony came personally to our house to inform us about our options and also to introduce himself, his company and his work ethics and we had instantly a very good impression. All communication was thoroughly and in a timely fashion. His bid was self explanatory and easy to understand and even if there were misunderstandings they were solved in a very professional matter. We've got some delays due to the lengthy permit process including some rather exhausting requirements from the City, that Tony and Century completely handled for us. The whole installation was as non invasive to our daily life as humanly possible. The demolition was done quickly (pretty much one day of really loud work) and every crew (demolition, installation, electric) was always on time, always happy to answer questions and explain everything. We did have some dry rot. This was already mentioned by Tony the first day we met, after he climbed up our roof to have a first look. The main chunk of the dry rot repair costs were covered by his initial bid and any additional costs were explained by the crew and explained in written form via email plus photos. Century also handled the interconnection with the utility for us - which was again a rather lengthy and time intensive process. The installation was flawless and handled with great care and knowledge. So no surprise that we highly recommend Century after this lengthy review;-)
I contacted Century Roof and Solar around six months ago to bid on replacing my roof and installing solar. This is an involved and time-consuming process, and they were patient with me every step of the way - answering all my questions and explaining everything I cared to understand. Tony has a wealth of both historical and current knowledge regarding the solar industry in general, and the details of installing in California specifically. They were patient while we negotiated various approvals with our HOA, and when we were finally ready to go they were quick and efficient - removing the old roof, patching water damage they discovered, installing the new decking, sheathing, and shingles, and adding the solar setup in only six working days. Our overall experience with this company and its staff was phenomenal. The onsite personnel were happy to answer any questions I had, would immediately come to me for approval on any incidental items, and overall seemed to do things very much by the book - a trait I personally very much appreciate. I'm far from an expert in roofing, but the work and materials all look great and are of high quality. I've had several neighbors ask me about the company based on the appearance of their work. Permits and inspections were handled effectively, and we're very much enjoying our new roof and solar. I would not hesitate to use Century Roof and Solar again, and fully intend to contact them in the future to bid on a battery backup system.
Tony Diaz and his company, Century Solar installed our solar panels - - twice!! Manufacturer defects in our panels resulted in the second installation. Tony was integral in dealing with the manufacturer. Our claim was reduced to a class action litigation where we joined multiple plaintiffs, as a class, against multiple manufacturers (including our manufacturer) and distributors, as the defendant class. Tony was instrumental in helping plaintiff’s lawyers understand the solar industry and developing the litigation theory, strategy and tactics. The litigation was settled in favor of the plaintiffs. We received new panels – which Century installed. That was almost 10 years ago and here we are again faced with additional issues on the second install. Once again, Tony stepped up. There are plenty of horror stories in the solar panel industry. We came close to having our ‘horror story’ with our manufacturer – but not our installer thanks to Tony Diaz. We unqualifiedly recommend Tony and his company, Century Roof & Solar.
Tony and his two-man crew were outstanding. It took 5 working days to install 20 Sunpower panels, run the wiring, install panel boxes, remove 2 whirlybirds, and replace them with a roof ridge line vent. Tony arranged for the inspector to come out the day after the work was done! That morning Tony arrived a couple hours early to make sure everything was looking good for the inspection and that the panels were generating power for the house. It not only passed, the inspector took pictures to use as examples for other installers. Tony then spent an hour answering my list of questions regarding next steps. Thankfully he was submitting the "passed inspection" information to PG&E and the technical info that goes along with it. The next day I was cc'd on his email to PG&E. Five days later, I received an email confirmation from PG&E that the info Tony sent was processed and PG&E was recording credits for my system. Everything was completed in less than two weeks. Impressive from beginning to end.
I was referred to Century Roof and Solar by a trusted contractor friend, and I’m very glad I took his recommendation. We had seven new replacement skylights installed and also needed some previous roof damage repaired. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. The entire Century team (including the office staff) was both highly skilled and genuinely personable. Every employee we interacted with demonstrated professionalism and clearly knew their craft, which gave us a lot of confidence throughout the project. The finished work exceeded our expectations. I’m so glad I chose Century Roofing for my roof replacement. From the start, Tony stood out with his knowledge and honest approach. They weren't the lowest bid, but they were definitely the right choice. The lowest price is not always the best choice! The workers were incredibly respectful of my property and cleaned up thoroughly every single day (I didn't find a single stray nail!). They took a little extra time to finish, but only because they are so meticulous, I very much appreciate all the attention to detail and making sure it was done right. Century Roof and Solar replaced our old roof in 2022 and installed solar panels in 2023. The quality of the work was exceptional. Although quote came in on the higher end, the craftsmanship was well worth the cost. Both the roof and solar panels were done as planned and on time, and they cleaned the site at the end of every day. His team was outstanding, skillful and friendly which exceeded my expectations. They took their time carefully handling all installations efficiently. I felt very comfortable selecting Century Roof and Solar as Tony’s team has been in the business for a long time and came in highly recommended by others.
We needed some roof tiles to replace the broken ones when we replaced some of the damaged wood trim. I called Century Roof and Solar and was greeted by Kyla. She was very nice and efficient: asking the right questions and giving out precise information. When I came to pick up the tiles, even though it was 'wrong' hours (not between 6:30 and 8:00 am) Elena (?) was very helpful and got the tiles I needed. It was a small transaction. But I believe that if one does well in small things, one will do well in big things. I will definitely come back to Century Roof and Solar if I have any need, big or small, in the future.
Update 7/9/22. We just had Century Roof and Solar install two Generac generators (at two separate houses) and the installation went off without a hitch. They clearly explained the process, were on time, the staff is very courteous, and the workmanship is excellent. Like the roof and solar installations they did for us, I would not hesitate to use them. We used Century Roof and solar for 3 roof replacements and 2 solar installations. They did a great job. Tony communicates exactly what is going to happen, they are on time, they clean up very well after each day. would use them again in a heartbeat.

We desperately needed one replacement tile that was out of circulation. Visited and contacted many different companies but couldn't find it. Two companies recommended Century Roof and Solar. Left a message which was promptly responded with a callback from Nika who was so helpful. She again texted me in the morning that the item was found! This place is the super store for all roof tiles. Elena is very helpful lady. Make sure you have the picture of your tile front and back and measurements. You can buy just what you need and cut to the measurement.

It took 3 calls with the office with promises of a call back to schedule a roof inspection. When I finally secured one, they were a no call/ no show for the appointment. I had to call them for an explanation! HORRIBLE
They dont want business. Said the estimate will be after 1-2 days and its been 1 week now and still no estimate. Very professional.

tl/dr: I did not give this company my gutter installation business. They are in business long enough to know who they can ripoff of. Once you are a little knowledgeable about the material and the process of what's involved, and they feel that you can see through their lies and jargons, they just simply refuse to do business with you. Tony, the person in charge, felt insulted when I asked very specific questions. For those of you who are still reading, ask your contractor when doing gutters. 1. What is the gauge of the material they are using. The lower gauge number is better. 2. How many feet are between each hanger. The less distance apart the sturdier, of course. 3. Ask for a rough cost breakdown. How much is the removal, the installation, and the disposal. You can actually have one company cut the gutters and another to install. It's called a cut-n-drop. 4. You have a choice to use factory pre-made corners (called miters) or have the contractor cut and glue corners on site. I trust the factory more. 5. Make 100% sure they slope your gutters toward the downspouts and DO NOT LET THEM just hang the gutters following the roof. Stale rainwater in gutters will give you countless problems down the line. I physically went down to the company to make an appointment for an estimate in 2023. They did not show or call. A year later, I called again and got an estimate a week after my appointment. $3300 for the removal, the installation, and the disposal of 160ft of gutters on a single story house. There were no gutters on my roof. Did the estimator not see that? When I ask to have the removal and disposal to be taken out of the estimate, Tony said they were free, aka, no money subtracted from the cost. I also specifically asked for rivets to be used, the estimate did not show such request was made and Tony didn't know shit about it. So you guys are doing free removal and disposal??? They don't care about what the customer wants. All they saw was 160ft and bam, $3300. Take it or leave it.
I had a leak in my roof and they came out quickly to put in a temporary fix, which was great. Afterwards, I got a quote to put in a permanent fix. One of the line items was to replace some dry rot, but the cost seemed higher than expected, so I called to see if I can get an explanation of the work. I spoke to Tony Diaz, and oh my, he was immediately defensive. He started off by telling me that his estimates are non-negotiable (I didn't try negotiating, by the way), that they don't work for free, that they have to pay their men and keep their lights on, that they don't like me trying to rip them off, that I can take my business elsewhere. I then calmly explained to him that I am not trying to negotiate, but simply to understand the work involved, since the guy who came out to put in the temporary fix only pointed out this one piece of wood that needed to be replaced. He then said, "Wouldn't you think the plywood underneath needed to be replaced too??!" How was I suppose to know??! That's why I was calling for an explanation!! Others on Yelp seem to love them, and perhaps I might have too IF I didn't question their quote. Tony terminated the call by saying he's done and don't want to do business with me. I was polite the entire time, merely searching for an explanation. I'm glad I didn't go with them, or else if anything were to come up during the work, they would have been impossible to deal with. His wife, Elena, is very nice, but that Tony needs to take a chill pill and a lesson in manners. Stay away from this child.
Run!! Don't just walk from this company. Forget the 50 year warranty on my roof, it's only as good as their workmanship warranty which is only 10 years! I had my roof replaced by Century 11 years ago. Five years ago I developed a leak from one of the chimney flashing which they supposedly fixed. Well we had five years of drought so there was no way to test the repair. With the rain this year, I again had a leak in the same area. Not only was Tony Diaz extremely rude, refuse to hear what my masonry contractor said about chimney leaks (if it leaks inside the chimney then it's a chimney problem, but outside the chimney is usually a flashing problem). Century came out, wrapped my whole chimney, including the flashing and asked after next storm if it still leak. When I said no, he refuse to do anything else about my leak including removing the plastic around my chimney. He said my 10 year workmanship warranty had expired and he wasn't going to do anything. Yesterday, I had another roofer came out to fix the problem. They removed the plastic and the flashing around my chimney and found moisture inside the flashing. Don't use Century Roofing, your roof will only be good for ten years. Read the fine print on their contract, it basically disavow any responsibility after ten years. It's full of loopholes to avoid any responsibilty. If it was possible to give zero stars, that's what I would give them!
Interesting company... or maybe secretary that needs etiquette... Back in September I asked to set up a meeting for a roof redo quote thru Yelp . I was very thorough in explaining what we wanted to have done... (More thorough than any of the other companies I was asking/requesting a estimate on the job from). The owner texted me thru Yelp, & mentioned he'd call back 'tomorrow' and/or, the next day. I had already tried the phone so that is why I went through texting through yelp... When I did not receive the phone call from the owner, I called the company and Elena, apparently the secretary, rudely responded to my request for a quote...' didn't I just speak with you yesterday... I said we'd get back to you next week(!!), We are busy and filled up with appointments!... So we will call you later!' Guess what - it's mid October and I have not heard a word from them! And also I think they treated me rudely. I was doing what they requested~ not fun for me to be on the phone! Thank you for your time... Choose roofing companies wisely :-)
I know how to do the math that how I know there was a price difference. The "25 cent" was me quoting what you said to me on the phone. Actually the price discrepancy is NOT $45. It's $180. Do the math. $6.05-$5.87= 0.18 more per sq ft. 1000 x .18 = $180. Again, I did read your estimate/quote, but that doesn't mean I can't ask question if I don't understand what is going to be done. I wasn't aggressive in my question. I was wondering maybe there is an error. I don't know that is why I ask. I did not accuse you of anything, but you got offensive of my questions instead taking the time to explain to me. Actually, your previous client is my co-worker. He was wondering the same discrepancy and told me to ask you just in case of an error. I would take any answer you would have gave me and let you guys do the work, but instead I got yelled at for simply asking a question. Your answer could be simply as I charge $6.05 per sq ft for 1000 sq ft or more work and I probably would have say oh. That was very unprofessional of you and you know that.
Tony I'm confused first you claimed the leak was due to our HVAC connections. That was in 2024 and we spent of two thousand dollars and had all the connections redone. In late 2025 it started leaking again same spot same area and you then attempted to say the leak was caused by faulty material that you used and you are not responsible for that? How you say the leak is caused by a "pre-existing" condition". So, which one is it I'M CONFUSED will you make up your mind. When we talked via phone call you never said anything about a pre-existing condition. I don't know what kind of work you have done in the past but the job you performed for us in 2019 was not done to code - IT LEAKS. Refusing to fix a leak that you are directly responsible for is unacceptable. You say you are open to discuss it directly and/or indirectly, so the question I have for you is did you respond to the certified letter our attorney mailed to you and/or the Better Business Bureau compliant that you forced me to file.
Estimate from the Google satellite photo? When I had a leak from the roof during the storm, I called this company because they were established in the area for some time. I got a call from a guy a few hours later after I contacted the company. He said he looked at the satellite photo, and he knew exactly what the problem was (??), and he said it would cost $5000 to fix the problem. Wow, how did he know without actually taking a look at the problem area? I fixed the roof by another company for $2500!! I would not trust them.
After calling twice and leaving messages for Elaina (who schedules estimates) , I heard nothing back. I called her a third time after two weeks of waiting and got through to her directly. I was told that they don't give free estimate --- The estimate would cost $175 and could be applied to the roof work, if we decided to go with their company. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Called on Monday to request improved flashing around several appliances and fix a leak in the laundry room and left a message. Called on Tuesday and left a message. No response by Wednesday. I understand that fall is a busy season for roofers, but calling back (even to say that you are unavailable) is a basic courtesy that should be required for any business.
took them 2 days to call me back to setup an appointment to get an estimate for gutter repair. The called me in the morning and said to be at home at 12:30. I took a time from work to wait for them.. No one ever shown up or called after two hours. No one even picks up the phone in this . Good luck to anyone who wants to deal with this arrogant guys!
I am extremely disappointed with this company. I called this morning to ask about getting my mobile home roof repaired and I was told that they "only do mobile homes in the slow season" as if we were somehow not as important as their other clientele. I would never recommend them to anyone with a mobile home or regular home.
It has been over 6 month and multiple text message but never received quote in my roof and solar work. When tony stopped by roof, he gave big and good story but he didn't find my work worth his time. Too bad at least I should have got quote back or info that he won't provide....
They replaced our roof in 2019 branch (NALC) it started leaking in 2025 and caused damages to our office. Long story short we reached out to the owner and he told Branch 1111 he wasn't covering anything and to sue him.
I contacted them 3 times for a repair on a job they did many years ago. They acknowledge the correspondence but never get in touch with an appointment for the repair I am willing to pay. They do not value loyalty.
The process to get an estimate and book an appointment was very easy thanks to Yelp messaging. I was able to get an appointment for a roof inspection within a week of my request and the inspector showed up more or less on time and prepared. This whole thing falls apart after this point because it's been now two months and I have not received any report or response. When the inspector was there he took photos and supposedly went in my attic but he refused to give any information about the quality of my roof or whether it's leaking into my attic as I suspect. I called their office numerous times and emailed the owner so far and once Elaina expressed surprise that my photos were there but no report and said she would call back. This was a complete waste of money and time. At best it was a false sense of security at worst I have a leak that is causing damage but can't get anyone else out to reinspect because we are now in the height of rainy winter. Too bad these guys suck because I am planning on a new roof soon and their reviews looked promising.
Great customer service - the reception and the guy who came out to do the the quote was nice. POOR POOR POOR follow up. It's been three weeks now since they got someone to come out here for the measurements but up to today, I have never received the actual quote. Follow up with them once, and they said they still working on it? Excuse me, it doesn't not take 3 weeks to give me a price on how much it cost for a damn gutter. I was waiting for them to weigh my options, so it would have been nice if they just let me know they don't want my business instead of not following up. I don't think I can trust them with installing anything on my house at this point. Moving on to another company.

Did not give 3 stars! It was a very bad experience. I am a woman who was working long hours and was going thru a tough time. Lots of personal loss. I had to have a new roof and chose Century frankly because they were the least expensive! Bad choice! Totally trusted this guy Tony. He came off as being nice and unfortunately was not honest. He did not include the whole roof in the estimate and I was not even aware until I had already given him a massive amount of money! It was the rear of my detached garage so I didn't notice till it was too late. I had to pay someone else to finish the job! Now I am experiencing more problems with the job they did. I have not been treated respectfully and really feel like I was taken advantage of. Too bad they are still in business because it's a shame to allow others to be abused as well. This was a huge investment and I'm sorry I trusted Tony. He was not nice after the fact and the customer service is non-existent. I will be so much more careful in the future, yet I am left with more expenses because of this horrible experience. Can't believe he is still in business! What a crime!
I was looking forward to having these guys out to give me a bid on a reroof for my new house, since they get great reviews and I eventually want to do a solar system, so like that idea of a contractor experienced in both and where the two intersect. Unfortunately, I emailed their sales address on their website and my email bounced (some issue with their mail server). I then tried calling and left a voicemail, but I never heard back. They may be great, but when I'm calling multiple contractors for roofing, HVAC, and window replacement bids, I'm only going to try twice before I start to question if I really want to work with a company that I can't even get in touch with.
7-2/15 - Called to see if they installed solar attic fans and very nice lady answered phone but said she would have to check. The answer I got when she got back ob the phone was "He said, no we don't"...end of call. We did want to ask about a new solar roof and other solar products but they didn't sound like they had time....
I have requested roof+solar quote via Yelp. After responding to messaging, they said they will call me; but no one actually called to setup any appointment. Looks like they are so busy and has no time to response for any new quote.
They have a $125 service fee to diagnose a roof leak/repair & it will be applied as a credit towards any repairs. 3 stars for timely response but no way to get locked in without knowing your diagnosis.

I contracted Century Roof and Solar to repair my roof. Tony (owner) visited my home for a consultation and was very thorough in explaining my options. It was a clear he was a man who knew his roofs. His back office team was always respectful and responsive. The roofing crew was always on time and did good work from what I could see. There was one moment where a vent was accidentally damaged (I had an bad roof so not all their fault) during the initial consultation and Tony had a crew member come fix it for free, so clearly a man of integrity and customer first mentality. Tony also took a video call with me to talk through the statement of work and contract with me. His team pulled permits and did things right and by the book. I do wish the crew themselves were a bit more communicative of what was going to happen but maybe I'm just too much of a neck breather when it comes to knowing what's happening. They painted parts of my house and lining that were damaged due to work and damage from a different contractor. These weren't even a part of the original SoW with Tony so another customer first example. Anytime there was an issue or something wasn't 100% right, Tony got a guy to come out and make it right. If there was an additional cost, they were upfront about the cost before I ever signed so I knew what I was walking into if there was more to be done than planned. Crew members would always take picture and show me why something needed to be fixed. I do advise that clean up isn't perfect and they do their best but also double check after they leave. It's been about a year since they fixed the roof and it survive the rainy seasons. The house is clearly retaining heat better than before. Overall nice crew, great owner, and a roof that does the job right.
