It’ll be hard to explain in words on a Google page how amazing the a/c tech, Shawn, was. Some background: we have a house that’s over 100 years old, we have a Gree split duct system and we have had our home for 2.5 years. We also have a newborn baby.. Recently, our a/c went from cooling our room to running constantly to only have our room “cool” to 80-88 degrees. When we got home with our baby, it was barely livable. We installed a portable a/c unit, added window tinting and were running 3 fans just to keep it at 79-80 deg. We had 3 techs check out a/c before Shawn. All of them said similar things - that it was working. We were getting hopeless. Shawn came yesterday and clearly had extensive knowledge on this system. He was warm, courteous and communicated all he was doing, He discussed different approaches and pros/cons with us. As I lay here, under my.blanket bc it’s 62 deg in the bedroom now and my newborn finally got a good stretch of sleep … I’m just so thankful. Shawn is a hero to us. I know that sounds dramatic but when you’re suffering the heat, worrying constantly about your baby’s temp and trying to recover from a c-section and a huge weight is lifted by someone, sounds like hero to me. To me!
I had an ongoing issue with my air handler breaker tripping in my main fuse panel when I turned on the heater (element). After I contacted CoolAir, I was ready to set up an appointment, but instead, I received a call from Zak in the electrical department. He asked me a few questions as we texted pictures and information back and forth. After few minutes, Zak discovered the problem: Undersized gauge of aluminum wire was used from the main breaker panel to the air handler causing too much resistance for the load. The wires were hot enough to partially melt the wire sheathing in the main breaker panel (see pictures ). Despite the breaker working, this is a FIRE HAZARD! I am astonished how Zak was able to identify the problem just by listening and following HVAC installation specifications. I spent hundreds $$$ last year on an licensed electrician who never resolved the issue after two hours in my home. Zak didn't even have to step foot in my door!! This skill is RARE. After thanking Zak and saving tons on money and time, I already know CoolAir will be doing my next HVAC/ductwork install. Wish I found these guys sooner. Thanks again.
Previous HVAC company told me there was nothing wrong with my air conditioning. My previous months electric bill was 358$. The a/c was running all the time but no sufficiently cooling the house. The volume was clearly too low. My neighbor recommended Kool Air. Demotrias came out and spent a lot of time diagnosing it. He agreed with the previous company that the a/c unit was functioning fine but there was a flow issue. They came out the next day and change the return duct and the duct that fed the house. The next day it was working so good but still seemed to struggle in the afternoon to hold temp. Called Demotrias and he was going to come right out and he suspected the thermostat before he even looked at it. It was the thermostat. After that it worked great. His proffesional own and his not accepting things are ok vs working perfect makes a huge difference. Could not recommend them more. Great service and the tech was a true professional that takes his job seriously and does quality work.
Demetrius Townsend saved us! My family of 11 came to FM for a family get together. When we got to our home, our AC wasn’t working!! It was 89 degrees and we didn’t know what to do. Demetrius took care of us every step of the way! He jumped right on it and was able to deliver a new unit and have it installed early the following day!! Our trip would have been ruined without him!! Demetrius was friendly, knowledgeable, understanding and professional through the whole process and we were able to have the trip we hoped for thanks to him and his excellent team at Coolair! The owner even got involved trying to help, which he did. I would recommend these guys to anyone!! Thank you for your hard work and follow-through! My whole family thanks you and your team!! We will be sure to recommend this company to anyone who needs AC help. We will also use them in the future when we need help again. Thank you Demetrius and Coolair!! We are forever grateful!! Corey R
We’ve been with CoolAir for over a year now, and they have consistently gone above and beyond to keep us as clients. Demetrius handled an emergency repair for us over July 4th weekend, when very few service providers were available. He also helped install and manage window units while we waited for warranty-covered parts, and checked in weekly until service was fully restored. He also resealed all vents and added U/V lights. Recently, we decided to replace the entire system because it had become less and less reliable. CoolAir had the equipment delivered and installed the very next day. Once the new unit was running, the temperature dropped from 81°F to 76°F and the humidity went from over 70% to 59% in under an hour - with nearly 100°F temperatures outside and rain. The outdoor compressor is also super quiet. Demetrius, Devin, and Spring are fantastic and deserve a big round of applause! :)
I had an issue with my GENERAC generator and my installer suddenly decided to stop servicing Naples. I called my AC company(Cool Air) that also is an authorized Generac Installer & Maintainer. Within 2 hours Kevin called and set a time to come trouble shoot. I had dealings with Kevin before and was relieved he was coming out. He immediately repaired it. He’s simply the Gold Standard for GENERAC generators, receiving up to date training annually to keep sharp on the evolving advancements of home generator technology. If you need an install, repair or warranty maintenance he should be on your speed dial. Truly the best in the business!
This company was an absolute pleasure to work with. After evaluating my 23 year old system, they confirmed I needed a full A/C replacement. The quoted price was not only reasonable but literally thousands of dollars less than another proposal for the same size unit. Even better than the price was the service. The installation team—Billy and Jose—were skilled, courteous, and left everything spotless. They completed the entire job in about four hours. Zak, the salesman, was straightforward and no‑nonsense, which I really appreciated. For any electrical or A/C needs, you won’t find better than COOLAIR CONDITIONING, INC.
Our experience was great ! We had our HVAC service by Lemaine who was professional, polite and efficient. We miss Lance so much, but happy he was promoted. Lemaine also found our hot water tank had a small leak. Being on second floor and snowbirds, finding that out may have saved damage to our hardwood floors and to our neighbors downstairs. Thank you Lemaine! John and Johnny were next to arrive promptly at the appointment time. They replaced our hot water tank, re -plumbed and re-wired it to code. Again, both were efficient, professional and polite. Thanks Cool Air for another great experience.
Coolair installed our air conditioning system in August 2024. We've had them come out and service our system every 6 months since then. Their service is always professional and we are very happy with both the equipment and the service. Tyler was our last service technician, on 2/20/26 and he was outstanding in every way: courteous, thorough, and followed up with us the next day to make sure everything was still working correctly. We always get a report with pictures after every service visit. Tyler explained everything in detail before finishing the job. We were very happy with his service.
Our water heater failed in the middle of the night. I called Coolair early the next morning and Kevin was on site within an hour. He and Zach replaced our broken heater with a tankless system installing the electric as well as the new system. I can't say enough about their professionalism, competence, and positive attitude. They picked up the unit I purchased, took photos for our insurance, and did a beautiful, neat install that reclaimed loads of space in our tiny utility closet. I highly recommend Coolair, and especially Kevin and Zach. Job WELL done!
I have a refrigerant leak and Coolair sent Demetrius to come check it out and give a quote. Demetrius was great. Down to earth and did not pull any pressure sales tactics and gave me a competitive price to replace an evaporator coil still under warranty. The other company I called before Coolair tried to get me to replace my whole system which was only installed 7 yrs ago by Coolair and still under warranty. Also, Demetrius was able to quickly get my system charged up and cooling nicely until the repairs are done. Glad I called Coolair back.
I had the best experience with Cool-Air! Having no A/C in this Florida heat was troubling me & my family. Luckily, Troy and Timm were the two technicians who arrived to assist. They explained the process to me, gave me a quick timeline for completion so we could have our A/C working! I had to leave during the service to pick up my niece, and those guys had the A/C working before I returned. You won’t go wrong with Cool-Air, but hopefully they send Troy and Timm!
It’s my daughter’s name on the profile, but I (Bruce DeKoff) had a service call from Troy and Kareem today. They were both highly professional and extremely thorough in their work. Even though the news was not good (I need to replace my system—13 year old unit and 23 year old air handler), they took extensive photos and explained everything in great detail. I have done all my A/C business with Coolair for 20 years, and I would recommend them to everyone.
Troy & Timm(with two M’s) were absolutely amazing. They were working next door, and I asked these guys if they could take a look at my a/c, and they were nice enough to do so. They gave me awesome advise to maintain my drain line and what filters to buy. I have a different company currently, but after those guys, I will be using coolair moving forward. Great job guys. Side note: they truly made me feel comfortable and they have wonderful personalities.
During routine maintenance we found mold in our attic and AC unit. Troy from Cool Air devised a plan for getting rid of the mold now and for the future. Dylan and Lewis implemented the plan and now our air inside our home smells clean and fresh. A timely, great job was done. Cleanup was fantastic and we could not be happier. Our bill was exactly what they said it would be, no extra costs or over-runs. Thank you Cool Air.
I recently had Coolair install a bidet, so I used their plumbing and electrical division, and I was very happy with the expertise and professionalism of the company. I was not sure what to expect as it was outside of HVAC, but I was glad I used them for this work. They value I received met my expectations, and I would recommend that you give them a chance on any work that requires electrical or plumbing work.
Had my first A/C maintenance performed today on my one year old unit, with my new service contract. Frantz Cesar was my technician. Very friendly service, answered all the questions I had and even called someone else from the company to get a question answered that he wasn’t sure of. Called me 45 minutes before arrival so I knew when to expect him. Great experience, very thorough and a pleasure to work with.
I couldn’t be happier with Coolair AC! We've been using them for years, and they consistently provide excellent service. Mark, the owner, has over 20 years of experience and it shows in the quality of their work. Nicole, the scheduling manager, is always friendly and efficient when arranging appointments. If you need AC services in Fort Myers, Coolair AC is the best choice. Highly recommend!
Cool Air Upgraded the old and rusting electrical panel and sub panels that were now out of code. Kevin provided excellent advice. Jose, Dylan and Johnnie worked efficiently and non-stop to complete the work. Then they made sure the work area was spotless. Couldn’t be more pleased. I also started using Cool Air for my routine AC maintenance with good results from Troy and Tim.
Was referred to Cool Air by my Dr. CoolAir installed new HVAC units with Halo system. My sales/service rep, James Lorenzo worked to get me the best price and service. He called and followed up to make sure all was good. I appreciate their attention to detail. James Lorenzo listened and knew of my allergies. Recommend a maintenance schedule that fit my budget and needs.
I highly recommend using Coolair for your HVAC services. I cannot speak highly enough of the Technicians Jaiden Bosley-Ackerman and Tyler Allen, who worked diligently on my AC and were determined to fix my unique issue. They went above and beyond and I so appreciated it. I was so impressed that I signed up for a service contract. I think their prices are very reasonable.
In March, I was having electrical issues at my house. Kevin Connors and another man came out and checked the breakers in the electrical panel. They found one bad breaker and replaced it. They also tested all of the outdoor outlets to be sure they did not have water in them and everything was working properly. They were polite, efficient and thorough. I recommend them.
I’ve been a cool air customer for around 8 years and have been very happy with the service. The company calls me with a reminder to schedule about a month in advance. This time we had Timm and Troy come out and they went above and beyond. Their explanations were extremely thorough and it was obvious they are extremely knowledgeable.
My AC unit was serviced on Jun 11, by Timm, a remarkable professional. Tested and cleaned the unit, took pictures and explained the findings clearly, provided excellent ideas for prevention of potential future problems. Timm demonstrated total care and technical knowledge to address our questions and concerns. Thank you!
We are so very pleased with the excellent service and advice we received from Kevin. He is so knowledgeable and professional. Also Johnny did a superior job stalling the inlet for our generator system. I will definitely recommend them in the future to neighbors and friends. Five stars is not enough. Thank you.
We made a call to CoolAir regarding no AC, while temps were feeling like 110 degrees, and within 2 hours they were on site, diagnosed the problem, and repairs were done. James Lorenzo did a great job, sending us pictures, updating us, he was professional and went above and beyond. We would recommend Coolair !!!
Troy Cole and Timm came for the first check up on my new air conditioning system yesterday. They were both very professional, knowledgeable and much appreciated. I highly recommend COOLAIR and especially Troy and Timm for all our future needs or checks ups! Thank you! James Sengstock Karen Blair
Very impressed at the workmanship and professionalism of Troy and the install team. Troy was always in communication with me and even stopped by a couple days later to check on the system and make sure we were satisfied with everything. I highly recommend Coolair Conditioning for any HVAC needs.
The electrical department is great; and one of the electricians has some great arms! I’ve recommended Coolair to friends who’ve had plumbing and HVAC work done as well, and everyone has had a great experience. 10/10 recommend this company. They are honest, reliable, trustworthy, and kind!
Editing my review to add the following: My AC units were installed in May/June of 2022 and i'm just now learning 2.5 years later they never even finalized the permit. Now I have to go through the process of dealing with this unfinished business with the city. Unbelievable !!!! We were referred to Cool Air as one of Dr Gruning’s patients. My experience with them was nothing but a disappointment, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. We have had the following work performed by Cool Air: duct cleaning, two brand new AC units, replaced grills with insulated grills, replaced return vents, 2 annual service calls, 2 service calls due to unit not working, etc. I’ve spent roughly $20,000 in the last year to only be treated with dismissive customer service. Below are the issues I’ve had: The duct cleaning was not completely performed 100% as I recently had another AC company come out and perform the maintenance and he took pictures of my ducts proving they were not cleaned. (see pictures). When the technicians came to replace the grills/return vents, they didn’t know what they were doing as they cut a hole in my drywall and refused to repair (see picture below). They claimed they “replaced” the vents however, I discovered (after getting on a ladder and inspecting) that the old vents were still up there. After notifying Forest (owner) of this, it took weeks if not months to get a refund on the vents that were not replaced. Our AC kicked off a month after we had it serviced, upon calling Cool-Air as a service call and having a technician out, it was evident the drain lines were not cleared properly during the maintenance. Technician was able to clear the drain lines successfully however, this should have been completed during the annual maintenance. Overall, my experience with Cool-Air has been utterly disappointing. The lack of service, poor workmanship, and dismissive customer service has lost them a customer. I would strongly caution anyone from utilizing their services as there are plenty of AC companies in the area. I will be sharing this with Dr. Gruning so he is aware of the company he is referring his patients to.
Horrible driver experience today and looks like driver is OBSTRUCTED BY ALL THE PAPERWORK ON FRONT DRIVER DASH Board ! Sadly a company that doesnt have a good organizing skills will most likely not give there customer's best of service when have paperwork half way up dashboard! I don't want to blame the COOL AIR driver on metro at 4:15pm TODAY for not being able to see over his dash on why he maybe cut me off and used work truck to block lane on metro so none can pass him maybe he didn't see me with paperwork on dash in clear view! He also had a passenger which he most likely drives company vehivle all time like this.. MAYBE HE WAS IN RUSH CAUSE HE READY TO BE OFF LIKE MOST PEOPLE AT THIS SAME TIMING CLEARLY! Please take this review as a company growth and safety measure to educate your field crews on profession standards when even driving repping your company vehicle. Thank you in advance for allowing this chance for improving for your company ! I would love to share the pictures of company vehicle today if I was able to share it I would.
Due to a defective air conditioning system, we found ourselves in an emergency situation that this company took advantage of. We received an extremely overpriced quote and a list of work that was incomprehensible and later justified with flimsy explanations. Communication was a disaster. The technicians who reinstalled the entire system were very friendly but spoke only a few words of English, which made communication and getting answers to questions impossible. For the outrageously high price, the service was poor, and in the end, we were left with a very bad feeling. We regret having hired this company. Addendum to the answer: What is racist about saying that the very friendly technical staff only speak a few words of English? It is outrageous and primitive to speak of racism on the basis of this fact.
We'll call it one star for having personable people answering the phones. Called yesterday with a plumbing/hot water heater issue. Was told plumbing department would get in touch today to schedule someone to come out for an estimate and possibly start the job. Left two different contact phone numbers and my spouse took off work so that we would have someone there all day to meet with them and address the issue we are having. Coolair never reached out — not even to say that they were too busy to send anyone today. The staff they have answering phones was great. Disappointing that their quality of customer service was so very front loaded.
Just had a service call completed, a capacitor failed in a compressor unit 18 months old. Technician repaired unit in 20 minutes, he didn’t charge $125.00 for a diagnostic fee and he was a pleasant young man. However, this company thinks it’s appropriate to charge $199.00 for a capacitor that cost about $ 30.00, claims balance is labor. For 15 minutes labor that works out to over $ 600.00 an hour. That is gouging on a grand scale. This company sold and installed this unit and has a maintenance agreement. Not great customer service. I cannot recommend this company.
I got a service from them. I paid for two services, after the first service, they just dissapeared. I called the guy that got the service, he switched to another company, then I called Coolair directly, they never gave me the service that I paid. Now, after 5 years, they want me to renew a contract. No way I am doing that. They already took my money and never gave me the second service. You does not do that to anyone. The woman that I was talking offer me a free service if I pay in advance another contract. Will you give them the money?
Won’t call me back. Never fixed my unit. Have had issues since being installed Does not cool below 80 degrees on hot days My unit leaked thru the ceiling in first few months I owned it I’ve never got my unit fixed on the not getting below 80 on hot days. I’ve got 3 calls into customer service this week and no reply This company has horrible customer service. Avoid them like the plague
Had a AC Tune up in May 2025. (Cool Air Technician, “ your AC good is to go”. AC break down June 2025, due to refrigerate linkage. Contacted the company was rudely brushed off from one cool air representative to another. Poor Customer services…
Had a 2 and 3 ton unit installed 3 years ago in addition to all new ductwork . We paid for drainage to be installed as well. We initially were happy other than two of our rooms having very poorly air flow we had a service call for that and the answer we were given was that they'd need to cut a hole in our ceiling to see what the problem is before they could work on it. We took that as there is no reasonable way to get air flow fixed in those rooms I wasn't there for that conversation but the technician was fairly rude with my wife she felt he was condescending and instead of trying to help us he was just pitching the service plan. Unfortunately our three ton unit has started going out over the last few months . The first time the unit went out a different technician came out. He was incredibly nice showed me how our drainage line was clogged told me to invest in a shop vac and regularly suck the gunk out. We went got the shop vac and did our best. Unfortunately again the unit went out in less than 3 weeks and the initial incredibly rude technician came out. I will remind you these units are less than 3 years old and they're already having all these issues. The technician was very upset to come out again blamed us for the units not working for not having the service package with them and said unless we sign up with their service package hes going to put a note on our chart that no one is to come out and service our units again unless I sign up for the service package. He also informed us our drainage lines don't slope down and need to be replaced. He stated that the only way to fix it would be to drill through our garage and having the line exposed through our garage and to drill a new hole out the side of the garage to let it drain. I informed him that part of the costs billed to us on the initial install were for installation of new drainage lines, he didn't answer that all he said was that it needs to be fixed which I didn't disagree with. The estimate I got was well over a thousand for new drainage lines. Suffice to say I was pretty upset after spending 26k on a new ac unit to have it not working appropriately in 3 years and to be talked rudely and down to by company who installed it. I ended up getting a second opinion which fixed the drainage for a sixth of the cost without having to drill and place exposed piping through my garage but unfortunately the second opinion found my air handlers had been incorrectly installed and all of the insulation was soaked through and will need to be replaced and reinstalled appropriately. It's pretty dissapointing spoken to so poorly when it seems the unit was incorrectly installed.
Buyer beware. Contracted through home depot. Initial inspection failed. Job was simple, remove old functioning package ac unit outside house, replace with new package unit, replace thermostat control panel on inside wall. Initial install failed miserably, for two weeks the unit was not cooling my house, was only cooling the inside of the ac unit, causing massive condensation and flooding for 8-12 feet around the unit resulting in oversaturation of the ground and a nearby tree coming down pulling out a brick and mortar flowerbed off of the side of my house, damage to house (estimated damage $2000-3000), mold is on the unit from where the condensation came from, after 4 or 5 visits where their own employees couldnt believe that the install happened the way that it did, as well as the unit being realigned to my ducts (another fail) finally they pulled the unit and re set the pad, no compensation for the extra $100 on my electric bill for that month to air condition the unit and not my home, it failed inspection during this time. Re inspection has now failed as well because the new pad wasnt set properly and the ac unit was falling off the pad (cape coral permit inspections words). Myself and my girlfriend have both had upper respiratory infections since this failed install, investigations into the cause are scheduled, no compensation offered for the loss of life expectancy of the unit due to it overworking and overcondensing out of the side of the unit like a river for the two weeks they left it. I dont trust them to not half*** any further work, making my warranty with them useless. They did fire the employees responsible, but that doesnt help me out with this mess. Response to the failed reinspection was to fill the gaps under the unit in the pad and concrete blocks was to use expanding foam, which looks like ****. This ac unit is 3-4 months old and already looks like it has been there 2 years. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! WITHOUT A REFUND OR A BRAND NEW AC PUT IN BY A REPUTABLE COMPANY WITH A WARRANTY AGREEMENT I AM TAKING THEM TO COURT!! See their facebook review for detailed pictures
They sent a parts changer ( Jose ) not a diagnostic technician. He kept putting in parts hoping to get the unit to run instead of putting a tester on the parts first and checking for continuity. Never thought to get authorization from me because after all they require your credit card information up front before they show up. Jose called me only AFTER a transformer ($288.00) a contactor ($299.00) and a relay ($286.00) was installed to get my approval. It took him about 30 minutes to rack up this $987.00 bill. He agreed with me that for that much money, no repairs should have been done without authorization first and offered to take his parts back out which I gladly agreed to. So he took his parts back out and dumped mine on a pile inside the air handler with all the wires cut off and hanging. So now I have to find a contractor who is willing to step into a repair with a bunch of parts and cut off wires. In addition, some lucky customers are going to get the electric parts that were installed in my unit. It begs the question how all three parts could all go bad all at the same time in a 6 year old A/C unit? The three above parts can be purchased at Amazon for less than $100.00 for all three!!! So they have a parts markup of about 900% then in addition a ( $15.00 fuel Surcharge) and a $99.00 "diagnostic" charge. This is added to all their bills to each customer all day long. That's about a quarter tank of gas each customer pays for them to show up at your house. His previous stop was about 5 miles away. 8 service calls a day average equals about $120.00 per day for gas in addition to a 900% markup on parts. BUYER BEWARE. Also, be aware that if you sign up for their every 6 months service agreement (which they push real hard for income and gas security, you will be buying a half tank of gas for them to drive to your house twice a year.
The initial install was fine however sometime after this, we began a remodel where the wall behind the air handler was removed exposing the HVAC unit. The duct work was not sealed with mastic as the front (exposed in the attic) was. In contacting them regarding this deficiency, there was not effort on their part to resolve. Now, after we were experiencing issue after the first year of coverage, our fan (X13 motor) was intermittently operating, we contacted them to address. The first visit resulted in them not diagnosing the problem because the issue was not evident during their visit. We were told that should this happen again, to contact them again. The original $90-some charge was good for 30 days to diagnose the issue (acceptable). The second occurrence was conveyed to Gulf Shore and their service tech arrived however the system was, again, not showing this error. Per the tech's instructions, I removed the thermostat to exchange with another to see if the fault would develop; hopefully pointing towards a faulty thermostat. When the thermo stat was removed, the HVAC air handler started to "blow" again. Evidence is now pointing to the X13 blower motor of which precipitated call number 3. Their service tech arrived and the diagnosis was as expected; a bad X13 Blower Motor. Now here is where they lost all credibility. Per the discussion with the service tech a "$562 Lennox Warranty Transaction Fee" would apply (per Lennox); a bold face lie!!!!!!!!!! There is no such thing when contacting another Lennox licensed HVAC company!!! The other provided the warranty replacement for only the labor involved. I would seriously advise NOT having Gulf Shore provide any service what-so-ever and it is a SHAME that this company has Reps in Costco selling their products! If I could score Gulf Shore less than one star, I would have!
Gulf Shore Cooling put in my new Lennox air conditioner which I happily paid about 9000 dollars. It was supposed to be the best! Other people have mentioned that price was somewhat high for that air conditioner, but ok it was done and I was happy with what I had! I even asked them to come out and check to be sure it stayed in good working order. Well 16 months after I purchased it the condensing coil went and so did the compressor! I live in Florida and some of those days, the heating index went above 100. I was told the parts are free, but they wanted 1600 to replace the coil and we'd split the price of the condenser so that would be 800 more. Totally they wanted 24 hundred dollars. After a great of screaming, talking to many people, and sweating a lot, they said they talked to Lennox and they agree to pay for part of the problem so I only had to pay only about 1150dollars! I was told by one of their employees that they can't check every unit to see how well it will work! I am aware that the air conditioner was no longer guaranteed, but we are talking about parts that are supposed to last as long as the unit. The appropriate business thing to have done in this situation was to absorb the price of the unit since it was obviously defective and they would have had a fan for life that would have talked about what a wonderful business to deal with. They now have a very angry customer that would tell everyone not to deal with these people! I have lived more than a week of heat, sweat, and aggravation!
I don't typically leave reviews, and it's true people mostly leave bad reviews, but this company is horrible. Unless you have a year to sit around and wait for a call back and an inspection, I wouldn't use this company. I've spent $16k on a new AC unit for my condo. The install was uneventful. But it didn't pass inspection. The part that didn't pass was an outside part that I didn't need to be here for, so I've been in the dark about whether it's been taken care of and reinspected. That was back in July 2018. 10+ months later, I've called and spoke with Michelle 7 or 8 times, each time "oh I'll look into it." "Oh I didn't know it didn't pass." "Oh you didn't get my message?" "Oh the inspector is taking forever to get back with me." "Oh well I didn't want someone walking around your property without you knowing." (It's a multi-unit condo)Then she assures me she will look into it, then disappears. I won't talk to her again til I call back and remind her this needs to be done. Last week I found out it definitely hasn't been taken care of and we are at where we were last July. She is probably a nice person, but clearly not in a position she is capable of doing. I'm so tired of dealing with this. I'm not sure why she doesn't just handle it so my name stops popping up on her caller ID!! Apparently no one else at the company deals with the inspection part. I cannot sell my place until this is taken care of. This company is costing me time and money. Kicking myself for not going with someone else. End rant.
Been thinking about replacing our a/c system as it was draining from the back up drain line recently. Called them for a quote as we are obtaining quotes. Sales guy comes out, seemingly professional and knowledgeable. He gives options for quotes 2x - 4xs (depending on the accompanying duct work I want) the amount of another company's quote. After being in my attic, taking pictures, making his evaluation he warns my drain pan is almost full and may overflow into my ceiling. Obviously I don't want that so I call and have a technician come out that day. Sales guy leaves. Guess what we notice within an hour of him leaving??? Water spots coming through the ceiling! How timely and coincidental. So after the technician comes out, drains it and installs the broken valve, we're $600 in but no one will take responsibility of the ceiling damage. Short of following them into the attic and watching exactly what they're doing up there, or having a camera up there, I wouldn't trust this co. They said they would do us right by giving us a credit towards the a/c system. Why would I want to give them my business if this was our experience with them?!
Gulf Shore Cooling tells me there is no charge for a tuneup before the appt then charges me $149 via invoice after the appt. After questioning the invoice this is how they respond... Good morning, Perry R. My name is Ivan and I am with Gulfshore Cooling. The reason for this message is to inform you that there is a balance of $149.00 for the maintenance visit that was performed on Monday 7/13/26. I reviewed your call and you are correct our AI system did say that there would be no charge. The mistake was our AI seeing your 3 YEAR COSTCO LABOR WARRANTY TAG through Costco in your account and mistaking it for a GULFSHORE COOLING MEMBERSHIP TAG. We understand the confusion we have caused and deeply apologize for that; our AI system is a work in progress and like any new program we have experienced some issues and are working to resolve them. If you'd like we can get you some information and get you started on a membership plan. Or we can collect the ONE TIME TUNE UP FEE of $149.00. Again, we do apologize or the inconvenience and do hope to resolve this matter sooner than late. ...you decide if that is good business.
Beware of using Home Depot selected contractors for installation of their products. They obviously work on hair thin margins and their work and follow-up service reflects it. Case-in point: Gulf Shore, the Home Depot installer of choice. On a two year "routine" maintenance call by another contractor, we found that Gulf Shore had wired the UV bulb to a high voltage transformer even though a low voltage unit had been provided. The result was a blown $140 UV bulb and no mold protection that we thought we had for the past two years. Float switches, which are activated in the event of condensate overflow were installed in series rather than in parallel. If one failed the other didn't matter. Much more seriously there is evidence that the refrigerant is contaminated which will lead to significantly reduced compressor life. This was confirmed by Rheem, the manufacturer, but Gulf Shore disputes this. As a result I am incurring about $1000 in expenses( as well as the possibility of shortened product life)that should have been their responsibility. A responsible Home Depot representative is no where to be found.
My 2,5 years old AC stop providing cold air. I called Gulf Shore, the lady told me there was a 99.00$ fee for the inspection. The worker showed up few hours after the call. He when directly to the outside unit took 2 screws off and expose the electrical unit. another 2 screws off and 3 wires he then had is his hand the capacitor. It took him not even 5 minutes. He check it with his ohmmeter and said it was broken. he showed me from his phone the cost of replacement 221.00$ for the unit , i said i have a 10 years warranty for parts he said yes but no warranty for labor. So the bill total turn out to be 320.00$. Total rip off. i offer to replace it myself he refused, i said i want to keep the old one he said i can't because the recycle them. 5 minutes later he was done. They lied when they mentioned 10 years parts warranty. They have a flat rate to replace parts. My capacitor on amazon is worth 28.99$ the very same one he replaced with. Never again will i recommended and do business with Golf Shore Cooling The are a bunch of thieves.
The worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. Gulf Shore Cooling sold and installed my central a/c unit a little less than three years ago. Today, August 1, it started making loud banging noises and then very loud buzzing. I shut the a/c unit off and called them. They don't stand by their products or workmen ship. They wanted $99 before they would even look at the unit and tell me what was wrong. That is not an honest way of doing business. They also wanted a $15 fuel surcharge. They said they were already on the island I live on. It's 7 miles long and 1/2 mile at the widest. They were, at most, 5.5 miles from me. I have to paid them $3per mile. That is a rip off. That is not an honest way of doing business. They texted me that they would be here between 12pm and 1:30pm. They arrived at 2:45 pm., very unprofessional. There are much better service professionals. One coming now has $49 service charge only if they don't have fix anything. No fuel surcharge.
Bought Gulf Shore Cooling's top of the line Lennox AC unit in April of 2020. Unit worked wonderfully till this past May, 2021 clean & check service & now our unit has broken down for the SIXTH time early this morning since MAY! Initially, they told us it was because of water in the line & an old drain system, so we spent the $900 for a new drain line that should've taken care of the problem - but it didn't. Every time our unit breaks down, it's from the same issue - and it isn't due to the drain line. We called Gulf Shore's emergency repair line at 8 AM this morning & have heard nothing. As of this writing, 1:04 pm, 7/24, we've heard nothing from Gulf Shore Cooling. Their answering person has no idea about anything. Not IF nor WHEN the repair man will be here today, tomorrow or ever. Meanwhile, I have a heart condition & need the AC. At this point, I'd advise you to find another, more reliable AC company. BTW, we purchased the unit through COSTCO.
Becoming just like Burno air a rip off. Came out for a service call charged $139 didn't have the part had to come back. Was told it was a major job and they charge a flat rate. For this job it was $490 for the tech to come back, being a new unit, I approved the job. It was far from a big job in fact it took the tech longer to do his paperwork than to replace the part. When I question the tech on why so much for such a small job he said the woman who was handling the charges asked him what they should charge he said he didn't know. So as far a flat rate this was BS. Beware of this company over charging. Check with other AC company the charge would have been $150-$300. Requested a call from there service manager never hear from him/her. That a very poorly ran company when a service manager doesn't want to call one of their customers that is not happy. I'll be taken my business elsewhere, this was my first and last emergency call to this place.
They only want to make a sale. Last Monday they came to my apartment and told me I needed a new compressor for my air conditioner. It is a Lennox brand and the serviceman collected over 2000.00 in advance before doing the work on a four year old unit. I was informed that they would install the unit the next day( Tuesday) it is now Sunday and I have not spoken to them except for the calls I have made. Such excuses as" we have over 7000 customers and we are busy" , the compressor is in Orlando, fl. We cannot get it here ", but mostly we will call you back!!! I Jane never received a call that I have not initiated first. I have even complained to the salesman at Costco inc. Where the sale was consummated. Is this a reputable company? You review my story. And take into account that it is July in Fort Myers and state is undergoing a heat wave. Their major excuse is that if I go elsewhere I will have to go to the " back of the queue "
Bought and had two stage A/C and handler installed in October 2015. 10 year warranty guess only covers cost of parts, not labor. 2018 needed new condenser/evaporating coils ($800+), 2021 new fuse, mercury floating switch, and flush the line ($769). Fuse and switch are what, $100.00 max? I understand that there are overhead costs, but this is ridiculous and for a unit less than 6 years old and serviced/maintained. Will never use them for anything in the future. Never had an issue with them being able to contact me in the past. They charged me two $100.00 service fees for they had the wrong number/email this time around and could not get my approval for services the first time they came out. (Not my fault, theirs). Just wish I would of read up on them and all the negative reviews here prior. Lesson learned.
Home Depot was NOT a good choice for an AC system. Their sub Gulf Shore Cooling installed a system that automatically shuts down because of how THEY installed the drain tube for condensation. They refuse to fix it, and say that we "opted out" of having it drain properly. How ridiculous is that?!!! Home Depot won't do anything and say that I sign with Gulf Shore. If you think Home Depot is going to help you - think again. If you think Gulf Shore is a good contractor - definitely think again! We have paid over $2,000 in service calls to get this system flushed out as it keeps shutting down. To plumb it the correct way is several hundred dollars. It is a scam! Run the other way!
Do Not be fooled by this company. when you have an issue regarding a part that was installed without your authorization, billed $486 for it and tell them about it by a phone call and then post online regarding your experience, they dismiss you by phone and then post online that you the customer are right about your concern but do not reach out to you nor give you a justified credit for their error as they state in their response to your review. Stay away if you don't want to be taken advantage of. It is well over a month(service 4/7/26) and no call from them or credit to our CC. Columbo Ft Myers
I requested an appointment online and was contacted by a representative the next day. A week later another representative called to confirm my appointment and let me know that a technician will be out on 01/18 from 1-5 pm and they would call 30 minutes before. I made accommodations to make sure there was someone to let them in to do repairs. It's almost 6 pm and a technician has not come or given the 30 minute call ahead. I am very disappointed as they did not let us aware they were not able to do the repairs. Very unprofessional. We wasted our time as we could of called another company.
They caused major water damage to my condo when they did not properly fix a drain pipe they cut to replace a coil in my air conditioner. After two weeks of them taking responsibility (they had a contractor and flooring company assess the damage) and saying "you're in good hands...we'll take care of everything, they finally said we need to put this through our insurance because of the cost. The next day changed their mind, offered us a tenth of the money of the cost of the damage. I said no and never heard from them again.
Terrible customer service, professionalism and promptness. Was scheduled to have a maintenance call between 10am and noon. Took a morning off from work to accommodate this appointment and technician called at 12:30pm to say he was on his way. How about calling the customer a lot earlier to inform of the delay? Not one person from management team bothered to call to apologize not even the service manager. I'll be asking for a refund on the maintenance plan and take my business back to Service Experts.
Bought 3 systems from them 7 years via Home Depot. Included 10 years labor and parts. Early this week I called due to fire in a power surge they installed and confirmed it was under warranty. After work was finished I received an invoice for $750. Parts cost less than $60 at Lowe's. Besides not honoring warranty the lie and gage. Be aware. One hour labor and $60 parts that should be under warranty gauged yo $720, Business Depot sells product but still des with contractors. Shame on you Home Depot.
This company came out to clean and maintain my working AC. When they were done the AC would not come back on. It was an old unit and maybe it was it's time to die but they tried to collect the cleaning cost and then tried to do me the favor of expediting a part for $1500 (it was a Sunday). Good business would be to waive the expedited fee or discount the install or something. Instead I got only excuses and deflecting blame. Needless to say, I had another company install a new AC.

This company has gone above and beyond for me! I appreciate Zak for all his assistance across multiple departments. My hot water heater was shooting water and Zak was able to troubleshoot with me on the phone and pull the plumbing team together immediately to fix the broken pipe so I still had running water in the house and get me a replacement water heater under warranty (even though it was originally purchased elsewhere) and install the same day so my 3 kids could have warm baths/showers that evening. 🙌 My 14 year old AC units were not functioning as they should and were being improperly maintained by another company. I had CoolAir replace both units with RUUD 4 ton split system with a dehumidifier & new thermostats that connect to your phone for control even when away. After just 30 minutes of the units being installed I could tell a noticeable difference in the comfort of the house. Air feels cleaner, less humid, cooler and the systems are so much quieter. I’ve worked primarily with Zak and all the technicians Lamain, Demetrius, Devin, Carlos, Colin, and Spring have all been very friendly knowledgeable and great to work with. Absolutely recommend this company across all departments. Friendly knowledgeable staff and prices are very competitive compared to other companies in the area. 10⭐️ service can absolutely trust - I will only have them service from now on!
