Called them to get a quote for a roof for our rental property. I was referred to a salesman, John Galiotto. From the moment we spoke, I knew that the salesman was an expert and had been in the roofing business for many, many years. He was super knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell us something we didn’t need. His pricing was better than any other roofing company we checked with. We signed the contract with him and the company came out within a few days, got the job done. We got the new roof put on four years ago and I’ve had no issues. I would definitely recommend Northern California roofing and John Galiotto was a top notch and very professional salesman.
Getting a new roof is a big commitment but Northern California Roofing Company carefully walked us through the process. They welcomed all of our questions and concerns with professionalism and patience. They use quality materials and let use choose from several different styles. We had to replace several facia boards and the new wood is aligned beautifully. As a gardener, debris was a concern but I have not found any nails left after they were done. Andy Adams, our main contact was extremely helpful and the crew worked fast and hard. I would recommend this company to family, friends and neighbors alike!
We have used Northern California Roofing Co. many times in the past. They replaced the roof on my parents' house in Sonoma years ago, which included an updated attic fan. The attic fan started making noise, so I called Andy Adams, and he sent his team there to investigate. They replaced the motor for free as it was still under warranty. The process was smooth and was completed in just a few days. They have also done some maintenance work on my roof here in Benicia. Andy and his team are great to work with. I highly recommend them for any roofing issues.
From Andy's estimate to the day the work was completed, we have been delighted with our experience. Everything that was promised turned out better than we hoped for. The new roof is beautiful, and the workmanship is top-notch. The crew was hardworking and happy, plus they cleaned up after themselves every day. The materials they used appear to be of the highest quality. Our neighbors referred us and told us that we would love working with them. They couldn't have been more right! Thank you, Northern California Roofing!
Had a fabulous experience today with Andy Adams. He was so knowledgable and friendly. I was so impressed on how much he knew about flat roofs. We met with several other roofers that could not identify where a leak was coming from, nor could they give us an honest estimate or understanding of the construction. Highly recommend Andy and Northern California Roofing.
Roof Replacement Project: Pricing was within my project budget & was very competitive with other roofing companies I had contacted. The roofing crew were prompt, hard workers & did their best to clean up after each work day. Very satisfied w/ the company's reputation & all staff's professionalism.
My new roof is beautiful! The workmanship and quality exceeded expectations. The consultant Andy was particularly helpful with design and has great product knowledge. I found their warranty and pricing unmatched. Would highly recommend their services.
My VPN shows a different location ... I live in Martinez, CA ... I apologize that this review is so long but Andy and Northern California Roofing did a great job - this is a 1-year later review ... Andy worked with my wife and I to decide the color, texture, ventilation and gutters of our roof. Andy, with his polite and professional personality, gave us not only a great roof, but actually a roof "System". Andy worked with our solar installer to coordinated the roof/solar installation and It was seamless !!! All the trades worked together without any issues arising; no delay, no drama. I just worked at home and they did their thing. I had a "punch-list/questions" after the work was completed and Andy had his crew come out to take care of all of our concerns immediately. The crew corrected all of my questions and even did extra detail work that I didn't think was a big deal. I was impressed with their regard to high quality workmanship and pride in what they build. I had 3-4 quotes for my project. All the contractors were competent and the price structure was within the same ballpark. But Andy was so polite and professional that I knew if there was an issue he would work with me to make things right. But, the primary factor was the quality of the materials Andy presented exceeded the materials quoted by the other contactors. It's been a year now, and after all the rain we've had I went on the roof to clean the solar panels, check the gutters, and inspect the roof. It's nuts, but I just had to step back and look at the quality workmanship of the installation of the roof shingles, the house utility venting covers, the ridgeline vents and the gutters/down pipes. It's knucklehead, but the work was done so well I'm still impressed and see new workmanship details I didn't notice !!! After a year, and heavy rains, I'm so glad we went with Andy and Northern California Roofing.
The professionalism of everyone associated with this company was extremely refreshing. The representative John Galiotto arrived for the estimate when he said he would. John even went with us to the city administrative hearing for the permit to replace tile with composition roofing. (We live in all-tile subdivision without HOA or CC&Rs.) I am sure his input helped us get the roofing material we wanted. John also helped us work with the solar company to have the solar panel stanchions replaced, so that the roofing company could flash them prior to the new roof installment and then the solar rails and panels being replaced. The roof was installed on the estimated date. On the first day, the crew that stripped the roof even handed tiles to neighbors for their own roof repairs - the tile style is no longer available. We were impressed with their attention to detail and how hard everyone worked. All the flashing and pipes were replaced and where the roof had dropped in height against the second story, the flashing was worked into the stucco siding. It will not leak. The roofers arrived each day when they said they would and each evening checked for nails and other sharp objects and picked them up before leaving. The job took a full 6 days. Thanks to their hard work, we now have the composition roof and new gutters that we wanted. The composition roof and gutters/gutter guards were about 2/3 the cost of a tile roof for our place. It looks beautiful, but even more importantly we know that this Northern California Roofing Company was installed correctly and that it will last!
Our roof tiles fell and cracked on the side of our yard which became a safety concern since our children constantly play in the yard. We had a few estimates prior to Andy coming out. The other roofers did not even do a thorough inspection on the roof which we did not have a good feeling about. The other roofing co. threw us an estimate, which was within our budget, but we still did not feel comfortable with their approach. When Andy came out, he took his time, inspected the entire roof, took pictures for us to view, and gave us options towards repair cost and replacement cost. He made us feel comfortable with his professionalism and really listened to our concerns. With the explanation that Andy provided to us, we knew that the job would get done properly. They were scheduled to come repair our roof a few days later. Miguel and another gentleman arrived on time and did an outstanding job. They replaced the broken tiles on the roof and secured the rest of the side tiles throughout the entire roof. From booking the appointment for an estimate, to Andy coming out for the inspection and to Miguel and the other gentleman repairing our roof, we thank you all for your professionalism and outstanding job. We would definitely use Northern California Roofing Co for the future and would recommend them to others. Thank you all again!!
Started this process off knowing zero about roofs and roofing and was fortunate enough to get paired with Tyler at No. Cal Roofing, who was PHENOMENAL! I live in Southern California so had to do a lot over the phone, I also have 2 family members in northern California who were also assisting with the planning of the project. Saying this to say that on a regular basis Tyler had to deal with 3 of us!! Never once did I feel as though he was annoyed with this set-up or all the questions each of us had throughout the process. He was professional, knowledgeable, understanding, and has the patience of a saint! He was very involved, climbing into the attic, explaining the condition of the roof and the entire process very clearly, and re-explained when asked. This young man even answered calls, texts and emails when he was OFF and traveling! You don't get this kind of customer service anymore! Someone raised him right! He is definitely an asset to the company. Not to negate the rest of the team, as the actual roofers were professional and kind as well. As far as the finished product, it is BEAUTIFUL! Makes the house look so very nice! Pricing was on point as well. I will definitely contact them for my next project up there!
The roof on my house in Sacramento was seriously due for replacement, so I went to the BBB site to look at potential roofing companies. Northern California Roofing Co out of Vacaville received an A+ rating, so I called and set up an appointment for an inspection and bid. The representative, John Galiotto, was right on time, and did a thorough survey of the roof. He returned a couple of days later with a complete proposal, which he explained in detail, and the bid was about what I expected -- $8,000. The new roof was installed in late August, and the crew, led by "Josh," did a fantastic job. Once they had the old roof scraped off, they discovered some pretty serious areas of dry rot, which have to be repaired or the new roof won't pass inspection. So, the cost went up by another $2,000, but it was absolutely worth it (thankfully they also accept credit cards). I'm so glad I chose this company - the work was exacting and professional, and it only took two days. We had our first real rain in early October and the roof, gutters and downspouts did their jobs perfectly. BBB is right - this is an A+ company.
The best investment we've made in our home. Andy Adams was extremely helpful with the exterior renovation by coordinating the roofing colors with the paint, gutters and downspouts for a perfect architectural appearance. The Malarkey roofing products are superior in quality to all other competitors and the Malarkey Emerald Premium Warranty made it the best composite roof available. Northern California Roofing was flexible with my schedule and everyone worked to make the experience timely and professional. We are enjoying the Anlin windows retrofitted by Golden Valley and the three sun tunnel skylights Aaron installed flawlessly in coordination with NCR. Northern California Roofing relentlessly went out of their way to make it a pleasant experience and we recommend them to anyone considering a new roof.
Had Ryan come out to inspect my roof for insurance purposes, Ryan's inspection was top notch, he took images of my roof from all angles and emailed them to me so I could present them to my insurance company. He let me know my roof was in good condition and saw no issues that would present any problems to my insurance company. Mind you this was no one glance inspection from afar, Ryan's inspection was thorough and extremely professional. He looked over the roof from every angle. Ryan's demeanor and amazing customer service and punctuality (which is almost impossible to find these days) made my whole experience with Northern California Roofing extremely positive. Any future roofing inspections or issues go directly through Northern California Roofing.
I have used this company on a previous house 6 years ago, which they did an amazing job! I recently bought another house that desperately needed a new roof. The day after I called for a quote they immediately came over and went over all my options. Not only did they tell me that portions of my roof needed to be replaced but they showed me! Never had a roofing company ever do that, other company just tell you something is wrong fix it and charge you.....not them! Ryan, Jose, & Chad plus their crews were very respectful and knowledgeable. The new roof now looks amazing and is now fully protected from these Vacaville storms! I highly recommend them and they will be the only place I call if I buy another property and fix or repair a roof! Excellent job!
I am rebuilding after the 2017 fires. It has been devastating to say the least, and my experience in this type of endeavor (construction) is nil. Northern California Roofing put the roof on the new house and I am so glad that I chose them. My roof is very high quality and installed perfectly. The crew were completely professional and cleaned up after the job was completed. The estimator, Andy Adams, was compassionate as to my situation and helped me make the best choices. The crew showed up on time and got the job done very quickly- no waiting as they were very organized from the start to finish. The new house now has a beautiful roof and I couldn't be more pleased with Northern California Roofers
The recent rains caused a leak in our roof. We called Northern California Roofing 2/13/25, as they installed our roof about 14 years ago. Ryan was just here 24 hours later to inspect. He found the source of the leak and fixed it right then! Instead of trying to sell us a new roof he simply fixed the (minor) issue while he was here and told us our roof actually was in great shape and did not need replacing for maybe another ten years. Then he gave us photos to back that up. Ryan is an excellent example of the all too rare principle of honest and reliable service. We will undoubtedly be calling Northern California Roofing when we need our new roof in the future.
Had a room addition put on 7 years ago. There was a slow leak, mold developed and a real mess. Our insurance AAA recommended NCRC to do the repairs. Andy the estimator came out and recognized the problem right away. Took pictures explained the problem and showed us how it could be fixed. Sent a timely estimate. Had the work scheduled and Ramon showed up on time and fully explained how he was going to fix the problem. He worked hard all day and was very helpful and asked a number of times if I had any question about the job. Cannot say enough about his work ethic and service. I recommend NCRC after my dealings with NCRC. Thanks

Just had my roof replaced by Northern California Roofing. Outstanding customer service from start to finish. Provided multiple roofing options/warranty options. Work was initiated when they said it would, and finished on time. The crew were excellent, leaving my property as clean as they found it each and every day. Gustavo and his crew were outstanding and frequently conferred with me as the progressed through the job, even going above and beyond their contractual obligation along the way. This company has restored my faith in contractors.
We were having our insulation done in the attic and found that we had a roof leak. I called a few places out they didn't even show up for the appointments, and Ryan showed up on time and was so helpful through the whole process because we definitely had our ups and downs during it. They did such a good job with the roof cleaning up after themselves when it came time for the final inspection the city pulled us aside and said what a great job that this company did and it's not very often that he can say that. Truly grateful for Ryan and his team.
I had a good experience with this roofing company. They roofed my house in 2008 and did a great job. I had them back this week to sheath and roof a backyard patio with the same roofing material so it matched my house. They sent two roofers for the two day job. The workers were very professional and courteous. They clearly wanted to ensure I was happy with their work and explained things while they worked. I would recommend this company and would hire them again. My in laws had similar positive experiences with this company as well.
Had an amazing experience with this company. Called them to get a quote for a roof for our rental property in Sacramento. Their salesman. John Galiotto, was amazing. He had obviously been in this business for many many years and was so efficient, prompt and honest he did not try to sell us something we did not need. Their price was the best we found so we signed the contract and the work was done professionally and promptly. We have been satisfied, the roof was put on over four years ago and no issues.
We contracted NCR to replace the roof of our new home, and have come away extremely satisfied. The staff from office personnel, to sales, to the men doing the work, were great! The original scheduled time frame that we discussed was met, and we had a beautiful new roof, facia and gutters in four days. Not only were the workers timely each and every day, but their cleanup after each work day, is to be commended. We will definitely recommend Northern California Roofing in the future!
The custimer service and professional roof installers exceeded my expectations. My new roof looks great. I am very happy with the whole experience. I had my roof replace by Northern California Roofing in 2012. I called them in May of 2014 when a tree limb fell on my roof, they came out the next day inspected the damage and repaired the roof the following day. I feel so glad I hired a company that values a customer. The crew even cleaned out my gutters. Great company!
I was in need of new flat roofs on my home prior to getting my solar panels installed. I had a quick response to get my estimate done. The price was spot on for the work. The job was done timely, the crew was very professional. The work is perfection. My house gained curb appeal and I have better piece of mind knowing the rotted areas and repairs were completed! I recommend this company hands down. I have more work getting done, can't wait to have them help me again!
I had a couple of roofers out to see my roof. I was not sure if I needed a new roof or just dry rot repaired. Andy Adams came out and provided me with a plethora of knowledge and was also very honest about the condition of my roof. Though I dId not yet need a roof, Andy was able to identify the issues that was causing the dry rot. I'm feeling grateful I met a good honest company. When I'm ready for a new roof, I will definitely be calling this company back.
Northern California Roofing from the roof estimate till the roof completion, was highly professional and transparent. The quality of the work was beyond expectations and the materials used were of good quality. David, Jose, and John were helpful from coordinating with the solar remove and storage to directing me to a structural engineer after storm damage caused damage to my roof. I would highly recommend this company to my friends and family.
These guys did a great job on our roof! They matched a competitors bid and then proceeded to deliver excellent customer service - from our first point of contact Brad, to the crew who were fast, efficient, skilled and nice. They were even out there hammering nails that were popping up On our old deck, just as a courtesy to us. Office staff was great too! Nice financing options. Nothing but good things to say about them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will stop returning calls, they do shoddy work, they do not uphold their contractual obligations, and will initiate a lien process rather than having a dialog around fixing these issues. This company is super shady and dishonest. Use anyone else, literally, anyone else. They installed our roof last fall. The crew that installed it did so in 1.5 days (full tear down and installation). We were surprised by the speed and a little alarmed. We were told in our sales pitch that the crew would consult with us and include us in the process. This crew didn't do that, they didn't even speak English, so attempting to engage them and be part of the process was fruitless. They just slapped up the roof and moved on. Immediately we noticed problems with the roof. They used the wrong size nails on our eves and destroyed them. The roof looked like garbage with tiles sticking up oddly in places. Items that were in the contract like new step shingles, new flashing on the eves, etc, were not completed. Also, though the contract stated that we would be charged $60/hr for dry rot repair we were charged $400/hr. And that is after we complained over the initial cost they tried to put in front of us which was almost twice that! And then it rained... 3 leaks! To Nor Cal's credit they came out and fixed those leaks but that's the only credit I will give them. And now I know the only reason they hopped to fixing those flaws was due to the liability they would have incurred had they not fixed them. They are motivated only through self preservation and not through anything resembling integrity. Though our sales person agreed that the roof was substandard, and though he told us they would fix these cosmetic issues, they never did. They stopped returning our calls. They fired our sales rep, the only ally we had. They never took steps needed to conclude our business, including sending out an inspector. We had a PACE loan, which expired. Then, after months of not hearing from them, months of them ignoring our calls, they sent out someone to drop off a ladder for an inspector. We told them that we wanted to be present at the inspection and that we wanted to speak with the owner before we approved this person's presence on our property. They stopped contacting us again. We called, they never returned the calls. Now they have initiated a lien process against us. They are clearly in breach of their contract, having not met multiple items in it. Their craftsmanship is of the lowest caliber. Their customer service is non existent. It's obvious to us that they put up a bad roof and rather than trying to make good on it they are hoping time plus some letters from lawyers will get us to cower and just accept the bad work. Tough luck there. They are in clear breach of contract. So we aren't worried about legal proceedings and arbitration. But we shouldn't have to do this just to get the roof we were promised. We shouldn’t have to spend this much effort on our expensive roof! During the sales pitch they kept derogatorily referencing small roofing operations as “Chuck in a Truck”. I wish we had gone with dear old Chuck. We would have gotten a good installation, from a craftsman, and from a business that depends on customer referrals for success. As opposed to this legalese ridden fiasco.
Tile roof installed 26 years ago with a 50 year warranty. Roof leaked over garage. The owner refused to ever call back. Sent an 'inspector' (John) out who only could talk about cleaning the valleys in the roof. The roof leaked at 26 years and there was absolutely no concern regarding any kind of warranty from this company. They do not stand by their work or the products they use. Would never recommend them, sadly. Very disappointed. When new roof was installed discovered the 26 year old tile roof was not installed correctly in the first place. Dry rot around the chimney because of faulty installation and several other places. Very unhappy trying to even deal with this company. Be very careful. Read their 'warranty' before dealing with this company. Be sure it is what you think it covers!
If there was a way to give negative points I would. I have been trying to give this company business for 3 weeks, they came out and signed the contracts, and measured for solar and never came back, no communication AT ALL, I received no call backs when I called at least 3 times. Worst company ever. I guess they already have all the business they need. Im just glad I know this now before i have them $26,000+. I know they will not be good to work with on warranties or service.
I am the chief operations officer for a non-profit food bank. We've been waiting since October, 2018 (80+ days) for a roofing project. After repeated follow-up calls myself, emails, and the down payment remitted, we are still waiting to be "scheduled". If a company cannot fulfill a contract, it would be honorable, ethical, and considerate to return a down payment, suggesting another company with higher qualities of service. Just saying.
I have a leak in my roof and it's still under warranty and I've been ignored every day since the storm. I can understand if they are busy, but they should at least get back to me with an idea when they can do something about it
Never called me back

Stick To Roofing Only! We had Northern California Roofing install a new roof and 6.5kW solar system on our Fairfield home in July/Aug of 2014 (Roof in July, solar in August) and the roofing job is spectacular, but the solar system has been the worst contracting nightmare we have ever had. The roofers came out and installed a beautiful roof and the solar panels arrived a few weeks later. After some re-configuring of the system due to backorders, the solar system was completed on 5 August 2014, and up and running. A month went by and I had to go to the City of Fairfield to get a permit for a new bathroom and fireplace, when I was informed by the city that a permit was never issued for my solar system and it was to be disconnected immediately. I contacted Northern California Roofing's solar salesperson "Mr. U" who told me he would fix it ASAP, but needed to get things like placards and seal holes before we could be inspected, as well as make changes to the plans (A MONTH LATER!). On 17 September 2014, a permit was finally submitted after several changes to the plans (despite the system already being on my roof and running), and the final inspection took place 23 September, where the system was finally approved by the city. It was at this time, the salesperson noticed the network card in the inverter was not working and ordered a replacement and collected our required PG&E documents for submission. The salesperson arrived a few days later and installed the network card and said it was up and running and would email us instructions on how to check our generation and usage online, but no email was ever sent and the "web based monitoring" was never demonstrated to us as even operational. We were told the PG&E documents take about 30 days to process, so when we received our PG&E bill for several hundred dollars on 28 November, we called PG&E, and we were told no documents were ever submitted. When we contacted the sales rep "Mr.U", we were told PG&E returned them and the documents were in his spam folder and that he was on vacation out of the country and would get it fixed a week later. A quick call to PG&E confirmed that they keep every submission on file, even the rejects and that this claim of spam is false and PG&E informed us that if we were operating the system, our power could be disconnected per "Rule 21" of PG&E operating policy. We then attempted to contact the office of Northern California Roofing and got the usual extension voicemail on 3 different calls. We left a detailed voicemail on 3 December requesting an explanation, and it was only around 10 December when someone finally called back and apologized for the delay in contacting us. We were told that the salesperson would be contacted after vacation and the problems fixed, and have not heard from them since. We sent a certified letter to Northern California Roofing on 29 December, requesting they contact us, and as of 6 January, we have yet to get a phone call, email or letter and have no idea when we can get our solar system online and we still have no idea if the web based monitoring ever worked. Note: The roofing salesperson, Andy, and the entire roofing crew worked smoothly and on time with a permit pulled for the roof only. The rest was a total nightmare to include management never returning calls.
Honestly, I'm really disappointed to be here writing a negative review. I truly wish this could be a glowing 5-star review, but one of the representatives of this company has made that impossible at this time. Northern California Roofing initially responded quickly and completed the repair in a timely manner. During the project, the senior project manager who was onsite stated that the roof leak requiring repair was due to poor workmanship at the original installation (Northern California Roofing was the company that had previously installed the roof). Based on that information, I expected the follow-up and billing questions to be handled thoughtfully and professionally. After the work was completed, I raised reasonable questions regarding workmanship, scope, and billing. Rather than those concerns being clearly addressed, my requests for clarification were met with dismissive and increasingly aggressive communication, including threats of a lien, before the issues were fully reviewed. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this matter directly, including requesting involvement from ownership and the senior project manager. When I contacted the senior project manager myself, it appeared that the concerns I raised had not been discussed with him, and he indicated he would be willing to review the matter and work toward resolution upon his return in January 2026. At no point did I refuse to pay a valid invoice. I simply asked for clear explanations and documentation before submitting final payment. Unfortunately, that was treated as an unwillingness to pay rather than an attempt to resolve legitimate concerns by Tyler Nottingham, who has stated he is initiating the pre-lien process. I believe this situation is still resolvable and hope Northern California Roofing will choose to address these concerns professionally and transparently. I am open to a constructive response from management and would welcome the opportunity to update this review if the matter is resolved appropriately.
While the roof was done timely, several inspections proved that they had not completed the required work. It took nearly 3 months for it to be all complete. The worst experience as the sales pitch. Charlie came to our home and gave us a "cash price" or a "no interest finance" price -- which had already built-in $2,000 at the front end -- so the bank (Wells Fargo) was getting their interest anyhow. Imagine our surprise when we begin getting statements from Wells Fargo for payments on the no-financed amount WITH FINANCE CHARGES ADDED. I have emailed several people at the company to help resolve this. It's now been several more months and the bank keeps adding finance charges. The worst part is, Charlie didn't give us a copy of our agreement at our home. He'd promised to email it and never did. I have NO proof of the "cash price" or the "no interest" agreement. Lesson learned. We should have made copies of everything our selves before he left our house. Now I get an email from Charlie saying "my numbers" are wrong. Well sure. I have nothing to prove otherwise, and we mistakenly trusted this man. He seems so knowledgeable and friendly and trustworthy. Now we're paying not only $2,000 more than the 'cash price' but ALSO finance charges to Wells Fargo. Don't use this company unless you get copies of all agreements UP FRONT. Don't get caught in a he said/she said situation like we are.
I needed some repair done on my TPO membrane roof, so I went through Home Advisor. One of the recommended companies was Northern California Roofing Co. They contacted me the next day to say an estimator would be calling me. Two days later the estimator called and scheduled an appointment. Two days before the appointment he called back and asked to change the day. On the designated day, twenty minutes after the designated time, I called the estimator. He said he was running late and was s just leaving home but should be at my home within an hour. You see where this is going... two hours later he showed up. We inspected my roof and his first suggestion was how I could just cut the membrane to drain water and use '50 year caulk' to seal and fix it... After the inspection, he went into his truck to make the estimate. 30 minutes later he asked if he could borrow some paper for his printer.... 30 minutes after that he handed me a contract saying, "just go ahead and sign, I already called and have you on the schedule for next Thursday.". I informed him that this was just an estimate not a work order. Another 20 minutes later, somewhat crestfallen, he handed me an estimate, though not the remained of the printer paper I had given him, and he left. Not a terribly impressive customer contact.. I eventually went with another roofing company.
I submitted an online request for a FREE repair estimate from Northern California Roofing. I was pleased to be contacted the following day and an appointment was made for the very next day. Later that evening I received a confirmation call from Tim, the roofer assigned to my appointment. When he realized it was just for an estimate and not actually a repair job, he inquired if I had other estimates. I acknowledged that I had made appointments with a few others companies. He then proceeded to tell me to go with one of the others. He "was too busy to come out just for an estimate. Okay?" End of call. I did call the office that set up my appointment to let them know what happened. I did not request that someone come out since I will not be using this company after the poor customer service I received. They did apologize and a few hours later I received an email from this Tim giving me an estimate. (No apology for being a jerk though.) Also, I find it odd how he can quote a price when he never came out to see what needed to be done. I cannot speak on the quality of their work, but I can say they need to train their roofers (or at least this particular one) on quality customer service. Way to lose a prospective customer who has a huge social and business network that I will most definitely share this incident with.
I hired this company to replace my HVAC system when my AC went out in August 2018. The sales rep was referred to me by somebody at the gym that has known him for years. He came over and sold me on the new system and offered to bring me a swamp cooler to get me through the week. I took him up on the offer and the first 2 installers that showed were great! The second pair that showed up next week left my water heater off. Then, upon the final inspection with the city, I had left 3 messages with the office about confirming the inspection and that they didn't leave me with my building permit with no call back. After 3 VM's, I had to figure out their phone system to get to the person that was scheduling my final inspection. She then scheduled it on the wrong day and the second scheduling had to be canceled because the inspector was not going to be here in time, scheduled wrong again. I took off 2 half days from work for no inspection. There definitely was a lack of empathy for my missed work and no apology for the multiple messages that I left with no call back. I sent a text to the sales rep after my terrible experience and he never replied which shows me that he only cared about the sale. Sad experience in the end. Would not recommend this company at all!
If I could rate -5 stars, I would. Horrible experience. Replacing my roof started in November 2017 and they "finished " three times, "ending" in late January. They showed up unannounced to start (luckily I was home). TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! SLOPPY WORK! Wonder how they got their license. Pictures are from the first time they "finished " the work. They did not prime the wood, did not replace dry rotted wood as contracted, left gaps,, did not line up cut pieces, etc, etc. They did not contact the county inspector for the in progress inspection so roof was inspected at the end--so much for the building code that says there must be an inspection halfway through before completion of laying the roof. The pictures are from the first time they "finished " the work. They did not prime the wood, did not replace dry rotted wood as contracted, left gaps, did not line up cut pieces, etc, etc. Just writing about the experience makes me cringe. Syntrol Plumbing and Electric (another horrific experience) subcontracted with Northern CA Roofing. The lack of communication between the two companies was unbelievable! When I complained, Mr. Hyde came out of the "nice" salesman who sold me the roof. HORRIBLE COMPANY! Another -5 stars if I could find the company here!
Update: I received a call the following Saturday from Andy who had originally come out and given an estimate. Andy stated that this was all a big misunderstanding and that he had told my husband that he would write the quote to be more so that when the insurance company cut us a check he would then rewrite the estimate much lower so we could pocket the money. That conversation never took place. He said that it would be more like $1500.00 I called and spoke with the owner who backed up this story and said they do this often to help out the customer. However I did originally receive a final bill for 5600.00 and it said pay promptly. After speaking with the owner he sent a revised final bill for $2000.00. with a new list of things that was supposedly done. I had another roofing company come out and they said that 3 of the things on the new list were never done. Shingles were reused although I was charged for new ones. I turned this over to my insurance company as this is insurance fraud and absolutely not ok. This company is so dishonest and I would advise going elsewhere. There is no doubt in my mind that if I cut them a check originally for 5600.00 they would have taken that check and never looked back. Knowing that the work they charged me for was not done.
My fiancee signed a contract with Northern California Roofing to replace his roof. About 2 months before work was to begin, he was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, and we were in and out of the hospital constantly. He was ready to come home for hospice care, and the roofing crew showed up at the house and would not leave when I told them of the situation and how I was bringing him home for his last remaining week. They began the work, delaying his arrival home, and then contacted us again explaining they needed $5600 to complete the project as they found dry rot. Basically, we were being held hostage to come back home. Upon my fiancee's death, as our house was left to me, I contacted this company to let then know the work was not completed as per contract. I asked them to please come out and inspect their work and perform as per contract. I was told they would not, as I did not sign the contract with them and it was signed by my fiancee. Not only are they unethical, they are immoral.
The customer service and professional roof installers was absolutely great. My new roof looks great. The reason for the one star. I also had gutters installed, gutters that are guaranteed to not clog. The very first rain, the rain went right over the top of the gutters. The gutters are white the roof is black, now I have black lines about every 8 inches over the gutters. When I called they sent someone to scrape off the screens, I was told it was clogged by the material from the new roof tiles. The problem was the person that was sent out tried to clean the black off the gutters with no luck in fact the attempt made it worse, when I called back about the back smear all over the gutters they told me I could clean it myself or they would charge me $150.00 for them to come out and clean it. The worst thing it rained today and no water went into the gutters the water again went over the top...now I have to call again. :( I wished I would of went with a real gutter company.
NCR installed my roof in 2004 . In 2010 the roof leaked and my bathroom ceiling caved in. My insurance company hired a expert to examine it .They determined that the roof was not installed right ..NCR repaired it with no charge ... A salesmen ,at that time said not to worry that they would warranty their work Seven years later (April 2017) . .it leaked again in the same spot and the ceiling again caved in ..I called them and they said that the business had changed hands ,but kept the same name , and they would not warrant it again .. They said that for for $500 they would come out and look at it ..I think they only repaired it first time to just push me down the road .I am not sure who the owner is now (probably a former employee) .. They do terrible work and could care less about it . I would avoid the company. . I think they only repaired it the first time to keep from putting on a whole new roof. I guess a lawyer is my next step
After waiting 2 weeks just for an estimate appt., the only reason Northern California Roofing gets 1 star at all is that on the day of the appt. he showed up on time, took some pics.(from the street!) and said he would get back to me with an estimate.(Finally some hope!) 3 weeks later after many phone calls to the estimators' private number (Charlie Porter) and to his office I got nothing but promises and no estimate, to myself or my agent. In frustration I asked my agent to try contacting the company to see if he could have any luck, apparently he's no super-hero either. His efforts were in vain, having the company promise him a return call with no results. If only I had known about this page and had read some of the reviews from customers/potential customers, I never would have wasted what has now become over a month of my time! Northern California Roofing, Thanks for nothing! Potential customers beware!
Biggest joke for a roofing company. Had someone come by to look at my house for roof repairs. He couldn't give me a quote on the spot and instead he said he will get back to the office with his team and decide on a quote. A week later...I haven't heard from him, so I finally decided to call the company. I spoke to a secretary about my quote and said the guy who look at my house will call me back. By then I was already calling All Above Roofing another company who did give me a quote on the spot and a great suggestion for my gutter also. Compare to the guy who look at my house from NCR who gave me an inexperienced and novice advice didnt have a clue. I still have his business card and to save you the embarrassment, I will not mention your name. If there was a double digit 00 that would be my rating.
Very poor customer service. After coming to look at my roof I didn't from them for the estimate. It took multiple emails to receive it. 1 week passed for the estimate, they picked up my deposit check and then I didn't hear from them again. It took many emails, phone calls and having to hear a ton of excuses from them about why I hadn't heard from them to get a response. By this time (almost 3 months from the time they came to inspect my roof), I no longer had confidence in them and requested my deposit back. It wasn't until I sent a certified letter suggesting that I would then seek legal action that I finally received my deposit. I hope nobody else goes through this with them or any other company !!
In the middle of a series of storms I developed a leak in my roof and needed someone to come out immediately. I was told by the company to stay by my phone and I would get a call notifying me when they were coming. I was never called or given a time as to when anyone from the company would arrive. After waiting almost 24 hours and not hearing anything whatsoever........... I had to call another roofing company to come out. Then the roofers showed up out of the blue and unannounced. I immediately told them to leave. No examination, inspection or work whatsoever was done on my roof or residence. A few days later the company sent me a bill for $550.00. Don't ever use this company!
Don't know how the work is, but the sales department is poor. Tim called about 1 hour before appointment and asked if I was getting other bids and if so, how many. Told him I had four coming, to which he replied, "Do you want a good company or the cheapest bid?". I said I don't go with the cheapest. He then told me he would be the highest bid, but would come out anyway. Tim called 35 minutes before appointment and said he had to reschedule because he had another job get a contract signed and was busy the rest of the day. Because Tim told me he would be the highest and he really did not care enough to keep the appointment, I will not be using Northern California Roofing.
I would like to start with we did not get any service. Like in baseball I have a three strike in your out policy. Strike 1: Made an appointment for 5:00 P.M. on a Friday. The roofer wanted to come 3 hours earlier because was in the neighborhood but I had to work, so he cancelled the appointment and asked to come the next day. Strike 2: Came an hour late to the appointment the next day Strike 3: Is 4 days late to giving us a quote from the estimate When it comes to contracting someone to do work on your home, how can I trust a company that has constantly proven that they cant stick to their obligation. One pro, my husband did say the guys sounded knowledgeable.
I called and left a message to get a quote for a commercial roof. I gave the gentleman who answered the phone all the information (address, phone number, how I heard of them, etc) I was told that the estimator would give me a call back. I never heard from anyone. That was over a month ago. It is their loss. I hired another roofer to do the building and now I have another commercial property in need of a roof and I won't waste my time contacting Northern California Roofing.
Completely dreadful experience. Home still has leaks inside and out. Company eventually stopped responding and it looks like we'll have to get justice from the CA State Contractors Board and perhaps the court system. Huge waste of time, energy and money. Extremely poor installation fraught with problems from design through construction. So sorry I went with this company. Major mistake. Hope you don't make the same mistake!
Poor customer service! I have had no less than three jobs for these people. One estimator failed to show when scheduled. The second person from Northern, cancelled due to rain (the other company had no problem checking out the jobs in the rain), but the office staff said he would put me at the top of the list due to him cancelling. Then I learn his next available time is 15 days out, never mind.
check all details before paying in full! i made the mistake of trusting that the job was done properly to find that part of the gutters were NOT installed and they will charge me to come out and fix their error. sales rep agreed that it was not complete but will not help me get this communicated to management and also refuses to give the manager's contact info. thanks for reading this! J
Worst company every, they don't return phone calls, they don't communicate. I think they don't need anymore business. Since they make promises and don't keep them. They came out to get contracts signed, and measure for solar and we never heard from them again, even though I called the office and left messages. Zack, Tim, no one there has time for anything expect to tell lies.

My roof was 30 years old so I decided to replace even though it was not leaking. One company I requested an estimate from was Northern California Roofing Co. They have a good reputation and advertise as veteran owned. When their representative came for the appointment he looked familiar. Turned out he replaced my roof 30 years ago this August while working for Curtis Roofing. He took pictures of the original file with his business card at that time. Small world. I will not name any names but John took care of bad situation with a company and since he has been in the business for a long time he got the situation corrected. I hope Northern California Roofing knows the treasure they have in John Galiotto. My neighbors on all 3 sides said they have never seen such a quiet crew. No yelling, loud music and the usual construction noise. Each night they cleaned up the job site and stored the equipment in a safe orderly fashion. They represent your company well. Bottom line. I highly recommend Northern California Roofing and if the client is lucky, they have John as their representative. Cheers!!!
